I've done two startups this offseason -- early Jan and early Feb. In both, the 1.01 pick was around overall pick #50, +/- 5 spots. Someone else mentioned late 3rd -- this is much too soon for my tastes, as guys like Blackmon will probably still be on the board.
Most formats, I'd gladly take Lacy over Blackmon. Wilson is going a full round ahead of Blackmon, and I like Lacy more than Wilson. If Lacy is drafted to a team where he's the likely starter, you're not going to be able to get him at pick #50.I've drafted the 1.01 in both of my startups; once mid-4, once late-4.

I think so too. Once people start looking for RBs to draft in the 3rd, a young, likely starting Eddie Lacy (or Gio) is going to look really good compared to Mathews/Murray/McFadden/Johnson/MJD.

Both as 2nd round picks. I think it's still possible both end up in bad spots. If ATL goes with Bell or Davis in the 3rd instead of using a premium pick, rookie drafts could get even more complicated. Could see a situation were Patterson is the de facto #1, which puts 1.1's value closer to late 5th or worse. In PPR leagues with 1 or fewer flexes. All these guys are situation dependent. Would only look at Lacy (or any RB) as a late 3rd if he gets lucky in the draft.

Traditionally, in years with a hot prospect, mid to late 2nd. In normal years, mid-to-late 3rd, early 4th at the latest and I am guessing about mid 3rd after the NFl draft.

There hasn't be a draft in which no RB has gone in the first in 50 years. I don't think it likely to happen, especially with the new pay scale and the number of teams needing a RB. And while others could feel that Lacy is a situation dependant talent, I do not. I think the current value of the 1.01 is pretty close to worst case scenario. And the others guys in that range - 3-5th round - are situation dependant themselves. Every year a couple teams surprise by going RB. Lacy going to DAL or NYG hurts Murray/Wilson just as much as it does Lacy.

Now Lacy going to NYG as mentioned by Coop, now that would be an issue (although I don't anticipate that will happen). Wilson is the better back.
