Dynasty - Guys You've Given Up On Too Quickly (1 Viewer)

Crabtree. Drafted in a start up in 2010 over Nicks. Felt like an idiot for 2 years. Then dealt him and 2 2012 1sts for Forte a year ago since I needed a RB (mid to late 1st). Now I feel worse. I always liked the guy. Total fail. Only thing that makes it bearable is I won this year.

Crabtree is the most recent, and one of the biggest. Traded Gronk after his rookie season, though I wouldn't call it giving up. Moved him in a package for Witten, who just finished as TE1. I didn't own LeSean McCoy after his rookie season, but I likely would have looked to move him, and I didn't think he looked very good at all. I'm sure there are more, but none coming to mind.

This is a pretty fun (and maybe humbling) revisionist thread.Sold too soon:-Jamal Charles (traded him just a few games before he got hot down the stretch a few seasons ago, bought the "experts" view that he was too small to carry the load.-Ray rice I actually was willing to hold him but a friend of mine in the league was dying for ANY RB help so I guess this one is "charity" that I wish I hadn't been so generous on :) -Michael Turner This one isn't so bad. Traded him two seasons ago for Beanie and 2 draft picks. Guess I thought he had hit the cliff but he has been useful both these past years. Still a too soon, probably.Held too long:-Tashard Choice is really the only guy I can think of that I have to say I just kept hangin' on and hangin' on. Don't know why really. These things go both ways though. Its evened out. I've bought some guys right at the perfect moment also. Gues it just means I am an active owner.

Jon Baldwin has been holding a roster spot for 2 years.......I think I hate him.Edit to add: great thread it is interesting to see others line of thinking.

Jonathan Stewart will be another player that will fit on this list somewhere; as will the Ryans Matthews and Williams. Will Denarius Moore be the latest in a long line of disappointing Raiders' wide receivers to go along with Schilens and Jacoby Ford?In a League with limited roster space I cut Russell Wilson after 5 or 6 weeks and kept Rivers and Stafford.

Gave up on too soon:

Roddy White - Drafted him as a rookie in our initial startup draft. After a year and a half of sub-par performances and really no flashes, I dropped him.

Darren Sproles - Had as a handcuff to LT/Burner, and then eventually dropped him.

Steve Johnson - Was eventually a throw in as part of a trade right before he blew up.

Miles Austin - See Steve Johnson.

Held on too long:

Mike Sims-Walker - Screw you Mike.

Matt Leinart - Yuck.

Tarvaris Jackson - Double yuck.

Ryan Moats - Never did amount to much.

Jason Hill - I was as wrong as could be on this guy. I thought he was going to be special.

Demetrius Williams - See Jason Hill.

Daryl Tapp - Never turned the corner and is basically a situational pass rusher now.

Kennan Burton - lol, see Hill and Williams.

Early Doucet - *crickets*

Lee Evans - Traded Santonio Holmes for him. Blech.

Brandon Tate - Kid must be stupid. He makes tons of plays on ST, but can't get on the field on offense.

Guys I'm on the border with right now in my main leagueRyan Williams - 2 injuries, but no sense cutting bait until we see what he may do next yearFinley - man I wish I would have taken the late 1st I could have gotten last offseasonDenarius Moore - still enough name recognition and buzz to maybe get more than I paid (3rd round)Quizz Rodgers - again, maybe enough buzz right now to get something.

Jason Hill - I was as wrong as could be on this guy. I thought he was going to be special.
Right there with you. I still don't know what happened to that guy.
I agree. I thought he was going to be the next Reggie Wayne.
I even added him AGAIN this past season when he was with the Broncos in hopes Peyton would make him the star he was always going to be.... jerk.
Haha I loved Jason Hill as well.
