[DYNASTY] Offseason Blue Light Special (1 Viewer)

If your dynasty squad is in need of a RB prospect and you don't have the coin to shell out for a Bush/Maroney/Peterson/Lynch then I recommend trying to swing a deal for LenDale White. Although he has been hampered by injuries this season, he has quietly beaten out former 1,000 yard rusher Chris Brown for backup duties in Tennessee and has averaged a very solid 4.2 YPC.

Entering the season, I thought White was in the hunt for the title of second best RB prospect in his class. Maroney, Addai, and Drew have made pretty good cases for themselves, but I still think LenDale is in the same class as those guys in terms of talent.

It also helps White's case that Vince Young looks like the real deal. Young's status as a dual threat QB could have a Vick-like effect on the Titans running game (given the success of Henry, you could argue that it already has).

In the short term, White is a Travis Henry injury away from being a top 15 RB. In the long term, he could emerge as a dominant workhorse on an offense led by a stud QB. I've noticed that a lot of owners will sour on their rookies and sell them at a discount if they don't have a strong first season. Try to take advantage of this and get White for a bargain price while you still can.

Very interesting. I've certainly been in the market for a prospect for a while now and White is a great suggestion. :banned:

I'll be interested to hear how seriously he takes the offseason activities. He has looked good at times when he's had the chance to play. It is troubling that he never really got any positive momentum going between injuries/issues in training camp and injuries all season.

EBF brings up a great point about the effect VY has on the running game inflating the value of the Tennessee RB, no matter who it is.

His price is low enough now that the bust risk is worth tolerating.

Good posting EBF. I did exactly that a few weeks ago. I'm more than happy to pick up LenDale on the cheap. It reminds me a little of Larry Johnson. Some people might forget how bad it actually got with LJ when he was riding pine, getting outplayed by Derrick Blaylock, etc. LenDale will get a chance either by injury or if the Titans decide to cut him as I think he's set to make $8 million next season. Though they could also restructure Henry's contract before cutting him. Either way, I'm not sold on Henry long term in Tennessee, so why not pick up LenDale cheaply?

I have him and it will take minimum Top 3 rookie pick to get him. LenDale will not come cheap, at least from me. I believe he is a stud in waiting.
