Man alive, it's amazing how high Meachem has climbed after a good 40 time. We forget the scores of Troy Williamsons trying to make it in the NFL. I like Meachem, but I am surprised that 40 times have shaken up the WR rankings as they have.Just for giggles, I mocked one of my dynasty leagues out. So, keep in mind this is based on ONE particular league, with a heavy IDP emphasis in the scoring system and includes traded picks, where no less than 6 out of 16 teams don't have a first round pick to use.
1.1 Me: Peterson
1.2 Team A: CJ
1.3 Team B: Lynch
1.4 Team C: Pittman
1.5 Team D: Rice
1.6 Team E: Russell
1.7 Team F: Meachem
1.8 *Team C: Bowe
1.9 Team G: Booker
1.10 Team H: Bush
1.11 *Team E: Irons
1.12 *Team F: Willis
1.13 *Team D: Quinn
1.14 *Team B: Stanton
1.15 *Team A: Siler
1.16 Team I: Ginn or Hunt

So, this isn't my clean slate mock, it's based on a draft where teams have specific needs and 6 have 2 picks in the first. It's also a 2 pt/tackle scoring system, so heavilly wieghted towards IDP's. Last year 3 IDP's were drafted in the first round, Hawk, Greenway and Williams, and 8 IDP's were taken in the second round.
That whole second tier of WR's is tricky to rank. Half of them will not live up to their draft postitions if history repeats again this year. Where these WR's land will shuffle them all up quite a bit in any case. I could easilly swap Ginn for Meachem there, or Bowe. I had Meachem at around fifth amoung WR's before the combine, so it wasn't a big jump to #3 for my rankings.Man alive, it's amazing how high Meachem has climbed after a good 40 time. No, Seattle didn't stink before Alexander. They were .500 or better each of the 3 years before they drafted him. 1992 was the only season they stunk in the past 25 years.Aside from that single glaring error, good post.Oh, I get that. I play only dynasty too, before dynasty was cool...In my first example, having some idea of what the consensus rankings look like NOW can help me to decide if a trade is in my best interest. Good dynasty leagues run all year round. Take a month off, and lose. I recently traded Cooley for that 1.16 because I like my options at that spot based on my roster's make up. The 1.1 pick IS one I don't have to worry about now.... unless I decide to trade it. Being asleep at the switch in dynasty leagues is a recipe for losing. But, owners that don't stay on top of things are great for padding the prize money pool.Hence why you shouldn't worry about it in February.Right now, I am worried about Peterson going to Cleveland (I have the 1.1 in a league where I am in a rebuild). I think I'll go Peterson, but I'm not set in stone on that, it could be any one of the big three. I mean, what if Lynch lands in Denver? Or the NYG? Or to a team like the Ravens? Makes it a much tougher call.![]()
My point being is... Adrian Peterson to Cleveland is not necessarily a bad thing. Cleveland won't always stink, especially with Peterson on board. He's the kind of guy that turns franchises around. The Colts stunk before Manning, the Seahawks stunk before Alexander, and the Chargers stunk before Tomlinson.
Don't overanalyze yourself right out of the next best RB since Tomlinson.
just marking my spot...
I'm not sure how...When all is said and done, Brian Leonard will go before half the people on these mocks.
I liked what little I've seen of him and thought he ran a lot better than people give him credit for. Just because he's 248 doesn't mean he has to play like Christian Okoye. People seem down on him partially because of the Shelton debacle but they play very differently. In the game against Kentucky last year when he got hurt, he looked nearly unstoppable.Am I the only one who thinks Michael Bush was a man among boys? The guy is built to be beast at the pro level and can catch the ball as well.IMO if he did not get hurt last season he would be in the top 3.
0.5 ppr for rb, 1 ppr for wr, 1.5 ppr for testart 1rb/3wr/1te and 1 rb/te flex...i am leaning heavily towards calvin at the 1.01r.......fwiw
Yep. Everytime I watched him he looked great. But the game that convinced me he is a special player was when he played Miami in 2005. He tore us apart and we had a very good defense. Bush is playa.I liked what little I've seen of him and thought he ran a lot better than people give him credit for. Just because he's 248 doesn't mean he has to play like Christian Okoye. I've been struggling to come up with the first two rounds. Here's what I have mocked out for the first 15 picks of a rookie dynasty draft. Rookie situation post NFL draft will have a major impact, as well as FF team needs. Like every other year, I expect RBs will be overrated. These picks in no way reflect who I would draft at a given pick. 1.01 Adrian Peterson1.02 Calvin Johnson1.03 Marshawn Lynch1.04 JaMarcus Russell1.05 Antonio Pittman1.06 Kenny Irons1.07 Michael Bush1.08 Brady Quinn1.09 Dwayne Jarrett1.10 Sidney Rice1.11 Dwayne Bowe1.12 Ted Ginn Jr.2.01 Lorenzo Booker2.02 Greg Olsen2.03 Brian Leonard.... it get real fuzzy beyond this point for me.JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn are wildcards.ETA: Arrrrgh! I left out Meachem. Any other glaring holes?bump.anyone wanna take a shot at what the first 2 rounds will look like in a PPR? i'm sitting on 3 picks in the second round, and need reciever help. Wondering what i might expect.and

forgot about Pittman.Difficult to do before the draft but what to heck...Can at least see what type of players might be around...1.01 - Peterson1.02 - Johnson1.03 - Lynch1.04 - Irons1.05 - Russell1.06 - Meachem1.07 - Booker1.08 - Rice1.09 - Quinn1.10 - Bowe1.11 - Leonard1.12 - Ginn2.01 - Hunt2.02 - Michael Bush2.03 - Olsen2.04 - Jarrett2.05 - Steve Smith2.06 - Kolb2.07 - Gonzalez2.08 - Selvin Young2.09 - Trent Edwards2.10 - Jason Hill2.11 - Johnnie Lee Higgans2.12 - Troy Smith
Nice friggin job here. Basically on the money throughout.I expect the NFL draft to go something like:
First Round
Jamarcus Russell
Brady Quinn
Adrian Peterson
Marshawn Lynch
Calvin Johnson
Robert Meachem
Dwayne Bowe
Ted Ginn
Dwayne Jarrett
Steve Smith
Greg Olsen
Second Round
Trent Edwards
Drew Stanton
Antonio Pittman
Kenny Irons
Brian Leonard
Jason Hill
Sidney Rice
Anthony Gonzalez
Zach Miller
Third Round
Kevin Kolb
Troy Smith
Lorenzo Booker
Brandon Jackson
Chris Henry
Craig Davis
Johnnie Lee Higgins
Aundrae Allison
Steve Breaston
A few other unheralded WRs like Yamon Figurs and Laurent Robinson could sneak into the first day.
I'm VERY interested to see if Jacoby and/or James Jones have crept up into 1st round territory...I have one Thursday night. Will post after. For the 1st time, I have no clue who the 5-12 pick are going to be.
Surprising to me that James Jones bumped WAY up (2nd WR off the board?), but Jacoby Jones did not. Craig Davis & Steve Smith also higher than they were in drafts in May....but Laurent Robinson, who's had some great reports out of camp & preseason games, still mired down as the WR13.Interesting to see that Booker has fallen way down, but Bush has not, despite news that it is possible/likely Bush will go on IR for this year (I realize this is dynasty and we need to think long-term, but still surprising to me that somebody would spend a top-5 pick on a guy they are almost guaranteed to get nothing from until next year...couldn't they have traded down and still gotten him later in the 1st or even into the 2nd round?). Booker was a 1st rounder in many drafts in May/June.Whoever took Russell at 3.07 got a steal.Meriweather, a CB, the first & only DB off the board - ahead of Landry?Standard scoring, non-PPR. Biggest shock was how far Jamarcus Russell slid. But we only start 1 QB....and historically our owners have placed limited value on QBs. Draft also included veterans not yet on our rosters. (e.g., Jesse Chatman)1.01 - RB Adrian Peterson, MIN 1.02 - RB Marshawn Lynch, BUF 1.03 - WR Calvin Johnson, DET 1.04 - RB Brandon Jackson, GB 1.05 - RB Michael Bush, OAK 1.06 - RB Tony Hunt, PHI 1.07 - RB Chris Henry, TEN 1.08 - QB Brady Quinn, CLE 1.09 - WR James Jones, GB 1.10 - RB Brian Leonard, STL 1.11 - WR Anthony Gonzalez, IND 1.12 - LB Patrick Willis, SF 2.01 - LB Paul Posluszny, BUF 2.02 - WR Craig Davis, SD 2.03 - WR Steve Smith, NYG 2.04 - LB Jon Beason, CAR 2.05 - TE Greg Olsen, CHI 2.06 - WR Robert Meachem, NO 2.07 - WR Dwayne Bowe, KC 2.08 - WR Ted Ginn, MIA 2.09 - RB Kolby Smith, KC 2.10 - WR Dwayne Jarrett, CAR 2.11 - WR Sidney Rice, MIN 2.12 - RB Kenny Watson, CIN 3.01 - RB Kenny Irons, CIN 3.02 - RB Jesse Chatman, MIA 3.03 - RB Lorenzo Booker, MIA 3.04 - QB John Beck, MIA 3.05 - WR Jacoby Jones, HOU 3.06 - WR Jason Hill, SF 3.07 - QB JaMarcus Russell, OAK 3.08 - WR Laurent Robinson, ATL 3.09 - RB Ken Darby, TB 3.10 - DB Brandon Meriweather, NE 3.11 - DL Jamaal Anderson, ATL 3.12 - RB Garrett Wolfe, CHI
I picked up Jacoby Jones at 3.10. Half the people didn't know who he was and the other half didn't seem that impressed that I got him there. Their lossI'm VERY interested to see if Jacoby and/or James Jones have crept up into 1st round territory...I have one Thursday night. Will post after. Interesting .Now, I'm not trying to cross post or anything, but in this thread it seems as though Chris Henry is typically in the 6 or 7 slot. Earlier today I started a poll regarding which RB you'd take after the consensus "Big 3" are gone - and Brian Leonard is running away and hiding. Strange that many say Leonard, but most seem to be taking Henry and others earlier. In my 10 team rookie/FA draft, the rookies went in the following order.
1. Calvin Johnson
2. Adrian Peterson
3. Marshawn Lynch
4. Brandon Jackson
5. Anthony Gonzalez
6. Chris Henry
7. Jacoby Jones
8. Brady Quinn
9. Dwayne Bowe
10. Ted Ginn
11. JaMarcus Russell
12. Tony Hunt
13. Dwayne Jarrett
