[DYNASTY] Rookie drafts... (1 Viewer)

I know. I am hoping that someone will take Davis or a QB. I really don't want to take White, but will take him if he is the last available.

I guess I should take Davis with #6 if all RB's are gone. My TE now is Wiggins though, so not sure.
i am in the EXACT same boat.

With Wiggins as your TE, you should be happy with any of the 5 RBs or Davis.I'm not sure how Wiggins makes the choice of Davis difficult.

We just started one -12 team, 24 man roster, 2nd year rookie and vet FA draft.

Just for info, the #6 pick was the only one in the top 7 not traded and many were traded 2-3 times. Picks 1.1 and 3.02 were traded for pick 1.2 and 1.12 prior to the draft. Guy who was at 1.1 doesn't like Bush and is high on Williams. He would have drafted Williams over Bush, so traded down to get an extra first round pick, which ended up being Holmes.

Draft is Over. For anyone who says you can't recover quickly in a dynasty league, the worst team in our league last year used this offseason to acquire - Bush & Michael Robinson at RB (owns Barlow and Gore also), Kitna at QB (owns McCown), Braylon Edwards and Horn at WR, and Vernon Davis at TE. All for the cost of Eric Moulds. Not bad.

With Wiggins as your TE, you should be happy with any of the 5 RBs or Davis.I'm not sure how Wiggins makes the choice of Davis difficult.
it's not that wiggins makes the davis pick hard, it's that wiggins is serviceable & my real needs are rb & qb. if davis is on the board it'll make my decision harder as TE's are enhanced in my league. & what about eric johnson? i know he's fragile as hell, but dude did catch a zillion balls 2-3 years ago.

My thoughts exactly. Wiggins is not a stud, but he is top 10 at worst. I don't have a top 10 RB on my team! Droughns is my best RB. I have the 2nr pick and will go with Moroney/Addai but am praying that someone takes a QB with the 3-5 picks.

Wiggins top 10 at worst? Here's some stats for ya:

2000 New England Patriots 15 2 18 207 11.5 59 2 1 1 12

2001 New England Patriots 16 6 14 133 9.5 31 4 2 0 10

2002 Carolina Panthers 14 1 10 62 6.2 17 1 0 0 3

2003 Carolina Panthers 16 11 8 80 10.0 23 1 1 0 4

2004 Minnesota Vikings 14 13 71 705 9.9 39 4 9 0 33

2005 Minnesota Vikings 16 8 69 568 8.2 24 1 2 0 29

other than 2004, show me a top 10 year. And I'm not even saying 2004 was a top 10 but it was nice...I'll give him that. And is it me or did Wiggins only seem to come on when Kleinsasser got hurt? If Kleinsasser is healthy, Wiggins is almost a non-factor. I seem to remember Kleinsasser being used alot in goalline situations not only as a receiver, but as a runner as well.

That said, I'd take a QB or Davis.

in the 2 years of this leagues existence he's been the #6 & # 10 TE. serviceable. my struggle is whether to take davis, leinart, or white. if any of the other rb's are still there i go that route. it's also an idp league, but i don't see any defensive player warranting a pick that high.

He was #10 last year in mine, but (and maybe I just underestimate him) there's at least 4 TEs that finished lower last year that I project higher this year (Troupe, Miller, KW2, Stevens) and V Davis may be as well. FBG's staff lists him as the #17 in a redraft, #20 in dynasty.

It's entirely possible that Wiggins is just a great value, but it seems a lot of people disagree with the "#10 at worst" statement.

But, back on track - I'd take Davis @ #6 unless you were in significantly greater need of a QB.

16 team, 1/2 pt per rec. Start 1qb/2rb/2wr/1te/1pk and 4 IDP.

in the 2 years of this leagues existence he's been the #6 & # 10 TE.  serviceable.  my struggle is whether to take davis, leinart,  or white.  if any of the other rb's are still there i go that route.  it's also an idp league, but i don't see any defensive player warranting a pick that high.

But, back on track - I'd take Davis @ #6 unless you were in significantly greater need of a QB.
no i think that's about right. i have wiggins at 13-17. my quandry is do i take a future qb or davis? over the long haul the qb may have much more value. i just hope someone goes away feom the top 5 rb's because that's where i'm the weakest.

Are you sure we don't have the same team?

 did you win the league 2 years ago? & fall to earth last year with an old/injured offense?

Yes I did! I was in the S.B. 3 years ago and won it all 2 years ago. Of course, that was when I had Faulk, Martin, Pepper, J. Smith, etc.

 when's your draft?

I thought this was a rookie draft thread, but I haven't seen a rookie draft posted here for a long while. Just chatter that could and should go elsewhere, IMO. :hophead:

Let's see those drafts! :hijacked:

Here's a new one for ya... Just started last Monday.

12 team dynasty league with contracts and development squad. 6 pts for all TD's. NO IDP. TE's same as WR's. (no TE required) Start 1QB, 1-2 RB, 3-4 WR, K, DT.

ROUND ONE

1. Wahoos ---- Reggie Bush, RB, NO

2. Comets ---- DeAngelo Williams, RB, CAR

3. Wahoos --- Joseph Addai, RB, IND

10. Crawfish --- Vernon Davis, WR, SF

11. Lumberjacks --- Maurice Drew, RB, JAX

12. Maulers --- Tarvaris Jackson, QB, MIN

ROUND TWO

Team

Player

1. Wahoos --- Chad Jackson, WR, NE

2. Marauders --- Jerome Harrison, RB, CLE

3. Comets --- Jerious Norwood, RB, ATL

4. Krushers --- Kellen Clemens, QB, NYJ

5. Outsiders --- Travis Wilson, WR, CLE

6. Superfreaks --- Sinorice Moss, WR, NYG

7. Superfreaks --- Brian Calhoun, RB, DET

8. Bluegills --- Leon Washington, RB, NYJ

9. Maulers --- P.J. Daniels, RB, BAL

10. 69'ers --- Greg Jennings, WR, GB

11. Lumberjacks

12. Wahoos

My team is the Superfreaks. I traded my first round pick (1.10) for a 2007 first rounder and the 2.07 pick. I'm thinking the 2007 pick is going to be a top 4 pick so it'll be worth it in the long run.

Draft is 4 rounds long so I'll keep updating.

You'd be surprised how bad your future can be when you spend your 1.03 on a LB.

It's a salary league where the rookies are contracted for 4 years at a price determined by the draft choice, but yeah he probably should have traded down at least.

Here's a draft in progress. As of this post, it's entering the 4th round.
