Dynasty: Shaking out the 2nd tier runningbacks (1 Viewer)

I am having a go at figuring out the slotting of the second tier of runningbacks in a non ppr FBG scoring format. I also think that it would be a good exercise to see who everyone else has in his or her second tier of runningbacks.

Lets assume we all agree that LT, LJ and SJAX are the top tier. We can then start to debate the next tier of players.

As of today I have 5 players in the second tier. Lets take a look at who I have in this tier. I will also give the reasons why they deserve to be in this tier and not a later tier. Since I am listing reasons to include them in this tier I will not be listing negatives. We will save that for another post.

Everyone else please add your own 2nd tier and list the reasons you have them in the second tier.

Gore - He had a great season last year showing he is a very talented hard-nosed runner with very soft hands. Still very young with years of production ahead of him.

Portis - He has finished in or near the top 5 over 3 times in his career. An elite runner who has all the tools you look for in a franchise back. Still young enough to count on him to be a fixture in your franchise.

Bush – Young, fast fluid moves, soft hands and a thoroughbred. Could he really be Gayle Sayers 2? I don’t know but he did flash some sick skills in the second half of the season.

Westbrook - In ppr it is a lot easier to place him in the top tier. Still he has finished in the top 5 once in his career. He is the featured back and little chance that anyone else vulches significant carries or Td’s from him.

W. Parker - He has been improving his stats every year and with a healthy and confident Ben R. behind center he should be able to find plenty of running room behind the Steelers line. He is also the featured back.

Well that’s my second tier. The order I slot them in is in constant flux. I keep moving them around from week to week and am still not sure where each one will end up slotted. :lmao:

Now lets see what you guys got! :lmao:

ETA: little dynasty crown. :bye:

I think Maroney has a shot to be up there if healthy and he gets most of the carries/goalline work.

T.Henry in Denver could be really good (if he keeps Mike Bell on the bench).

Id put Addai, and R.Johnson in that tier too
Rudi has to be included in the second tier.Deuce McAllister I'd put ahead of Bush.in a non-ppr league, Bush is nothing special.

I'd also put Michael Turner in there, should he be traded.

insert the name of GB's running back into the second tier. that team runs well every year.

if, a mighty big if, Benson can stay healthy and shows signs of being a good RB, I'd put him in that second tier as well. but I don't think he'll last as a starter. he's been a first-class bust so far.

Until Portis proves he can stay healthy and isn't involved in a full-blown RBBC, he's nothing more than a 3rd tier RB, somewhere are RB #15-20. he's injury prone. Betts is going to take on a big role in DC this season.

Addai should definitely be in the 1st tier. Gore, without Norv Turner, is likely to see his stats plummet. He's another injury prone guy. Has a first time OC who's never been an OC at the NFL level. Will that affect Alex smith's production? if so, its bound to hurt Gore, too.

until he proves he's Eddie George 2.0 ( i.e., worn out) , Shaun Alexander still has at least one more BIG season left in him, and I'd consider him a borderline first tier RB.
