DYNASTY: Shockey owners.. (1 Viewer)

Guy has been no worse than TE11 in his 6-year career, but the future is obviously uncertain. Should we hang tight and hope he plays through this season?

Has anyone tried to move him? What were you able to get?

I have not bought or sold Shockey this offseason, but he is a hold for me. I think he is creeping into the "buy" category for my tastes only because he is getting cheap. In redrafts, it is crazy to see him as the 11th TE off the board.

As long as Shockey plays for some team, Giants or other, he should easily outplay that ADP. The bigger issue for me is the injuries.

took Shockey 9.10(122) as TE11 in a 14 team, 1.5/ppr for TE league as my TE3 (w/Gates, DalClark)...w/2 flex, I can start all 3I'll buy Shockey all day at this position, but as an owner trying to unload, I wouldn't expect anything near what I feel he'll be worth when the dust settlesHOLD

Yeah I figure the move is hold, since you won't get enough to cover the loss of potential production. I guess the bigger question is do we expect him to return to form? The injury is a concern, but the situation with the Giants seems to keep getting worse. I'd hate to see another TO-Eagles scenario.

I expect a return to form. If we are talking dynasty, Shockey is young enough to buy low and weather the storm. If redraft, I would hold and see what happens with the situation in camp.

Hold for sure.... Shockey is a top 5 TE talent. He is solidly in the very talented 2nd tier of TEs, behind Gates, Witten, Winslow, and Gonzo. There are about 5 or 6 other guys in Shockey's tier, and, of that group, Shockey can be had for the cheapest price.

Don't sell low.

You have to hold if you own him. His value is too low to trade him.
Inherited a dynasty team in a 16-Owner Keeper/Auction League in March of last year....not a bad team but I had a hard time with Ced. Benson and Shockey.Benson had a high dollar contract with two years attached and Shockey was taking up a RFA "Tag" with marginal ROI.

First order of business was to trade them both:

1.) Schockey for Scheffler (who had a broken foot at the time) and Benson for Merriman and the two years remaining on his contract at a reasonable rate.

Just pick out an owner that preceives Shockey's value and trade him for your choice of scrubs and you'll come out with the upside of the scrub which is better than the downside of Shockey.

1. Scheffler is not a scrub, but was a good deal for you.2. We don't care about Benson.3. Why would I want to trade a player based on comparing the guy I'm giving's downside with the guy I'm getting's upside? Generally a BAD idea. I'm holding and/or trading for Shockey right now. As long as his value is as low as it looks, you can't lose.

Buy Low / Firm Hold.

I just bought Shockey in my dynasty league as a "throw in". I traded A. Gates for P. Burress and Shockey. Coming off the league championship I have been able to build my team by buying low on studs.

Shockey will play somewhere this year. He is the highest paid TE in football. He may be a knucklehead but he can't be that stupid.

That phrase doesn't mean what you think it does. I actually like Plax, but I would not trade Gates for him, straight, or even all that close.

Well on my dynasty team I also have Winslow and T. Gonzalez. So trading Gates for Plax made sense for me.

Just drafted Shockey in the 11th round of a 12 team startup as the 12th TE off the board. As my TE2. That's nuts - he's definitely a buy low this off-season.
