Dynasty trade question...Crabtree and picks vs AJ Green and picks (1 Viewer)

Hello there! First post in these forums.

12 team, Dynasty, non PPR league.

I have been talking to another owner about a trade. Wondering if you guys would do this trade.

I give up Michael Crabtree, 2017 draft pick 1.03, and 2018 1st round pick.

I get AJ Green, 2017 draft pick 1.11, and 2018 2nd round pick.

My hesitation is that I have a real need for a RB. I will get a pretty good RB with the 3rd overall pick this year. In this league we can start 2 RB/3WR or 1RB/4WR Below are the players I am keeping for my team. Any thoughts?

Thanks!!

QB

Jameis Winston

Philip Rivers

RB

CJ Anderson

Paul Perkins

Bilal Powell

WR

Antonio Brown

Michael Crabtree

Demaryius Thomas

John Brown

Kevin White

Laquon Treadwell

Welcome to the forum. I'll start you out with a "like" to the ball rolling.

For the trade, I wouldn't take that but I might be different than most. I don't value 2nd round picks very much. Especially since your league doesn't seem to carry very deep rosters (11?). Your WRs seem to be very competitive already and the drop off from Crabtree to AJG doesn't amount to what you lose in picks. The difference from 1.03 to 1.11 is a lot. The drop from a first rounder to a second rounder is also likely a lot.

I'd probably counter with Crabtree and the 2018 first for Green and the 2018 second. I doubt they take this but you never know.

I like the idea of getting AJ Green, but that price is pretty steep.  I would just pass.  You could counter with what Borden suggested but I think the Green owner will pass on it.

You need RBs!   I would just keep the 1.3 and take McCaffrey or Mixon, whichever is there.  There is a huge dropoff from a McCaffrey/Mixon to what RB you could get at 1.11.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it.

We keep 12 and have a 6 round draft. Most people drop the D/ST and K at the end of the year, so you really draft 4 players and a D/ST and K. I haven't figured out who number 12 is going to be. I also have

Jared Goff, Carson Palmer, Kabri Bibbs, TJ Yeldon, Chris Ivory, Cole Beasley, and Allen Hurns.

I really hate the thought of giving up a first round draft pick and I have never done it. When a name like AJ Green gets thrown into the conversation it makes me at least stop and think about it for a bit. I was wondering, if I did make the trade, if I could swing Green or Antonio Brown for a top RB. I am not sure I could get someone to give up a top flight RB. I am thinking I will pass and draft as many RBs as I can and hope to hit on a couple. I have 1.03 and 2.03. I am hoping that maybe a Joe Williams, Kareem Hunt, or Alvin Kamara are around to double up my chances. I somehow got mired in the Jacksonville running game since MJD and it has been a horrible place to be.

Agree with this.

The price is too high as other's have stated.  I think that seems to be a consensus as is countering with the 2018 1st for 2018 2nd swap with the players so enough about that.

For your 12th keep I think the easy choice is Beasley.  There is no reason to keep another QB (actually keeping two may be a bit much but you don't have better choices so I can understand).  Bibbs, Yeldon, and Ivory have no upside to them so no reason to waste a freeze on them (even though you are weaker at RB).  So it comes down to Beasley or Hurns. If it was PPR it would be an easy choice but since it isn't I go with the better offense/QB and that leads me to Beasley.
