Eagles at Buccaneers (1 Viewer)

They are just spying on Brown...and thats all that have to do. Bucs are going to make them beat them by passing.

Philly's defense will break down eventually. You can't keep puting an undersized defense on the field after 3 and outs and not have them wear down.

Vincent Jackson, not going for the ball, just laid out Michael Kendricks, who was. How is that not hitting a defenseless receiver? Don't defensive players have the same right to the ball as offensive players? Same thing happened early with Nnamdi and Dallas Clark.

Unbelievable how inaccurate Freeman is today.

Foles is a better QB than freeman so far today

B/c they broke up a play. Clark undercut Nnamdi which happens all the time on the defense. They didn't go for the head.

You don't have to go for the head to get flagged for hitting a defenseless receiver. And what do you think all those defenders are trying to do? They are breaking up a play.

I just posted in the main thread: I can't believe the difference in this D. How could they have invested such time in that gimmicky Wide 9?

Foles giving me hope for next year?

Foles' TD run might have been the slowest I have ever seen. The whole right side of the field was empty and he jogged in from the 20.

The Eagles defense is just completely shutting down the Bucs.

It's not the wide nine, it's Kurt Coleman. The wide nine got pressure all year, but they didn't get sacks because there were always guys open down field. The QB would just step up and throw.Kurt Coleman is the worst starting safety in the league. He wouldn't even be on the roster of most teams. Having him on the field is actually worse than only playing 10 players, because you think that area of the field is covered when it isn't. You're seeing the effect on the other DBs and the Dline of having a safety in coverage rather than a hole with a number 42 jersey on it.

So you are saying Colt Anderson is that much better? If true than this is just another colossal mistake by Reid and staff.

In a word, yes. It's a combination of that and the defense adjusting by putting him in lower pressure situations. Kurt Coleman might be the worst DB in the league. Obviously I don't know much about backups on other teams, but I've never seen a DB get repeatedly torched over multiple seasons like Coleman has. He's slow, short, can't tackle, can't cover, and doesn't have good instincts. He simply does not have the physical skills to play in the NFL.As for the adjustment, this happens a lot with the Eagles. They put in a sub, simplify the game plan, and all of a sudden the team looks great. This is obviously a problem with the coaches and their unwillingness to play to their players strengths. One of the many reasons Andy needs to move on to some other team after this season.

(edit) My favorite Kurt Coleman clip.

Anybody who took a shot with Avant today must be feeling pretty good right now. Foles is looking like a solid starting QB at the moment.
