**Eagles at Vikings**(+2.5, 44) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

After a mini bye, the Eagles appear to be healthier. We'll see if they have been humbled enough to make some adjustments. A heavy dose of Saquon should be just what the doctor ordered. Having Q back is huge on defense. Hopefully enough defense to make Carson turn it over twice and we can have a fairly comfortable win.

My gut says Fangio plays an anybody but Jefferson defense this week, especially as I think the Eagles aren't super concerned about the Vikings run game. This feels like a week where Hockenson or Addison is gonna have to make some plays. Not saying bench JJ by any means, but I doubt he's a top-5 guy this week, likely drawing Mitchell+help.

I think the offense is gonna struggle with Flores blitz looks. Probably another week where AJ and Smith have some near misses. I do think this sets up as a solid matchup for Barkley though, if they stick with him this week.

Vikings win, Eagles have a very interesting discussion about the state of the offense going forward. Maybe playcaller switch?
 
Wentz vs the guy that took his job.

Methinks he tries to do too much a few times and the Eagles capitalize via sacks, turnovers, maybe a defensive TD.

Offense goes back to the basics but ya know hopefully, some different calls than the Tecmo Bowl 4 play call sheet.

As a die hard eagles fan I hate saying this but this game just feels like a birds loss.

Dline WITH Jalen Carter has been bad. Without him it’s a disaster. They just don’t have the personnel to do anything. Fun stat: they have one sack. All year. That’s atrocious.

Oline is statistically the worst it’s been in over a decade with Landon injured, Steen playing badly and even stallwarts like Jordan, Cam and Lane playing poorly. Saw a stat that said Saquon is playing behind the worst run blocking line of his career according to a bunch of data points.

This teams strength since Andy Reid got here, has always been the lines and they are both playing horribly. Everything stems from that. If you get good line play the running game and the passing game open up. If you get good line play your secondary can play lights out. When you don’t, you get stomped by the giants.

I don’t see this changing. Brian Flores is going to eat this team alive. The only hope is that Carson does some trademark hero ball **** and gives the ball back to us on some short fields.

Hate it, But Eagles lose a gross game: 21-19

Get well game for the birds. Nothing fixes a teams ills like a matchup against the vikings. Saquon will go off today. Vikings run defense has struggled all year especially with all the injuries on defense. Need all their backers to be healthy (as well as oline). Hope I am wrong. Skol!
 
Ugh, my Eagles predictions this year have been horrendous.

Gut feelings? Eagles by double digits. Barkley goes off. Hurts throws 3 TD's. Defense abuses Wentz repeatedly. Who backs-up Wentz? He might not finish the game.

Man I hope you’re right and I’m wrong. I just haven’t seen anything positive from this team at all in the last month.
 
This game is a toss-up, both teams beat up and with what look like serious issues. Either team could win by double digits.

Eagles’ keys on Offense: Switch up the playcalling. Run more empty sets, speed up Jalen’s clock, and use his legs in the run game.

Utilize the middle 3rd of the field. Eagles are bottom 5 in the league of crossing routes. Bottom 5 of air yard plays across the middle, and dead last 10-20 air yds in the middle.

Stop running so much heavy personnel. We have one TE who can block. Lining up in 12/13 personnel so much and inviting a stacked box is monumentally stupid with the personnel we have.

Bring back RPOs and run PA more.

Eagles Defensive keys: Sim pressure Wentz and bring exotics to get him throwing off platform. Win the TO battle.

“Anybody but Jefferson”. Don’t let JJ go off like Jamar Chase on Thursday. Key him up and dare Wentz to find Addison, Thielen, Hock.

I think this’ll be an ugly game, low scoring. But could be a blow out, either way.

My thinking as well. REALLY need to see four quarters from this offense. I dont want to see 24 in one half and 3 in the other

I agree with most of this but how the hell do you run Play action when Jalen is literally never under center.

They had a couple on this opening drive. I know Jalen doesn’t like it, but they need to do it more
 
I was watching AJ the whole time from when they lined up and was like what the **** is this guy doing with this route, but I guess they got that favorable matchup through the motion and he knew he could just rope a dope him and Jalen saw it too.

Yeah he was definitely blocking for a dump off to Saquon

the best part was that the O-line held up long enough for AJ to break free. THey haven't done that much this year
