I picket up Chatman off waivers hoping for the best, but I'm surprised to see him already rated above my normal starters Jacobs and Travis Henry. Is there sopmething about the Giants defense I don't realize here? Is Chatman really going to get that many carries? If someone has inside info to back up this rating, please relate it here.

If the Fins plan to pass often the game is over before it starts. The Giants line up (what I think is) 4 probowl caliber DEs on their DL at one time. If it's 3rd and 4 they stay with the normal DL if it's 3rd and long..look out. Opponents must run on first and maybe even second down, there's almost no choice that DL set is so great right now.Running also gets the super quick first step DEs to think twice about jumping so quick as they get worried about jumping off the line and putting themself right where the OL wants them and inadvertently openning up a running lane.

I know - who would have thought that this week my top 2 guys are Earnest Graham and Jesse Chatman over SJax, L Jordan and ADP????? Now, it's just about how much I trust the cheatsheets, b/c it's really tough to bench those guys, even given their circumstances.....

It leads to a more general question: if you have a "stud" player, but also have another guy on your bench who this week is ranked on the cheatsheet above your stud, do you bench your stud? I never have, but now Im wondering...

IIRC, somebody (FO.com?) did a study about this and found that the RB position is the one most affected by matchups. In other words, you should sit your stud with a bad matchup for another RB with a great matchup more often at RB than at QB or WR. But I don't think anyone has a hard and fast rule of when to do it.

Graham is going againsy Jax-their run D isn't soft? Why is Graham ranked so high?

Someone has fallen completely off hte planet ranking Graham that high, they must have forgot he faced the Lions last week.

I sold high on Graham this week for that reason - Detroit is giving up the 2nd most points to RBs in my league. I think expectations need to be tempered just a bit.I certainly wouldn't bench Brandon Jacobs for either Chatman or Graham. Chatman would have to show me that he won't get vultured at the goalline by Cobbs before I'd start considering him as a top 10 option on a given week.

It still boggles my mind that Frank Gore is in the top 10 every week, when the team he plays on has absoltuely no chemistry at all. Dodds also has him ranked as a top 5 back. What has he shown him or anyone this year that hes deserving of that title.

Also Dallas Clark has yet ot crack the top 3 in any given week. How many more weeks do you need to realize that he is a main cog in thier passsing offesne, especially in the redzone

Getting back to Chatman, my two questions are, how good is the NYG run D, really? Statistically they look good, but stats are not always the truth. Also, how good is Chatman catching the ball out of the backfield? I got him in a PPR league, and that makes a big difference for me. I saw he had 6 receptions in game 1, but only one since then, and some games where he had 0 touches the entire game. That seems a bit odd.

 Strange ranking. Would be shocked if that came out right.

Crazy question but would you start Chatman over Henry then, if Im looking at the cheatsheets, it seems thats they way to go?

Chatman was able to get 71 and a score against NE last week. What makes you think he can't do the same against the G-Men?

He had 13 catches last week. Perhaps they expect more of the same in PPR.

Circumstance.
His circumstance vs. NE was that he only had 8 touches. What do you think his circumstance will be vs. NY in regards to touches?
Circumstance also had the Patriots up by 9 billion and not exactly pinning their ears back on defense.
Is Miami playing NE again this week?

You got a point Ignatius -cheatsheets are ludicrous

thats the point.do you really think the pats were trying all that hard to stop him by the time he came in?

These are the Patriots we're talking about. Belichick would put on all out out blitz on his mother if she were qb'ing in a game of Madden down by 77 with :05 left on the clock. The Pat's aren't playing to win games, they are playing to make statements and to destroy people.

I am really struggling with that decision too. Henry being injured and playing on Monday night is a big factor here since Henry may miss the game, or leave the game early with an injury like he did Sunday night. At this point in the season, it is not as if Henry has been lighting the world on fire. He only has 1 td, and as witnessed last week Shanny loves to throw from the one yard line making short td's even trickier. Henry is also playing a tough Packers D coming off a bye. I think the decision is a tough one considering Chatman did pretty well after Brown got injured (albeit against a Pats D that was not playing everybody at the time) and Brown has been productive this year (not saying Chatman is on the same level as Brown but there certainly is a chance for a Miami RB to put up some decent numbers). My one concern with Chatman is I would like to see him play through a full game once before I throw him into my lineup. You just never know if Cameron will platoon him with Booker and limit his carries (and therefore his numbers) this week. If Henry is healthy I will probably still go with him, but it's a real tough call.

Answering the question, do you sit your studs due to matchups. Sometimes, yes!

For week 7 I started Graham and Watson and sat out Ronnie Brown, Jacobs, Lynch, and Henry due to their bad match ups!

Couldn't have worked out better!!!

This week Jacobs and Lynch had good matchups, so I sat the other guys.

Cudos ... but how does this relate to Chatman.. ;) He had an OK game given the circumstances (bad team, bad weather)... had a run to put him over 90yards for the day called back , but hit double digit scoring in most leagues.
