Most retailers do in fact have a price-matching window. If you go to, say, Banana Republic or J.Crew and buy something that goes on sale up to 30 days later, you can get a price adjustment. Maybe not a car, but those aren't set prices anyway - it's all about a negotiation. And in the case of clothes or other seasonal goods, they are typically going to charge you more to get it sooner. In this case, we've basically pre-paid sooner... the service isn't even active yet.Just saying. All that said, I can't say enough how good this service is (unless you're in one of my leagues, in which case it sucks, don't bother).I certainly mean no disrespect, but you agreed to a price of purchase for a product/service. I've never seen someone purchase a car, week later car on sale, owner take car back because it's now at a cheaper price.Bottom line, you agreed with the price of purchase.
Here's the scoop for anyone that bought the subscription in the offseason (March 2007 until now, before the earlybird announcement). We will offer two choices: 1. We can refund the $25.95 and you can decide whether you wish to purchase the one-year or three year packages (or neither).2. You can pay the difference ($35) and we will add another two years (Three years total). This requires us to manually change our tracking database so we will need people to paypal the $35 to dodds@footballguys.com and then send a note to subscription@footballguys.com with your name so we can adjust the database.Davidthe s*** is going to hit the fan!so I'll ask the question again, regarding those of us in yr 2 of a previous 3yr deal....can we reup w/3 more, for a total of 5 paid in advance?and can those poor shlubs already in for '07 add on a 3 yr, to take them thru '07-10 season, into Super Bowl '11?

FBG is now taking subscriptions:
Earlybird Pricing:
1 year ($20.95), 3 year ($60.95)
Earlybird pricing will remain until June 1st. Price will then be $26.95 for one year. We will sell 2,000 three-year subscriptions and then eliminate that option.
Big Efforts for 2007:
MyFootballguys - Possibly the most exciting project we have ever developed. This area will allow users to define multiple profiles based on each of their leagues. These profiles will then allow you to create custom SOS, custom Top 200 lists, Forward lists (looking at week 7 when it's only week 4), custom projections / rankings and view past stats all catered to your scoring criteria. Players that are on your roster (or you are targeting for trades, etc) can be assigned to the MyTeam against said profiles. This is likely to become the most important page of the Footballguys.com subscription.
MyFBGMail - Is your mailbox getting stuffed with too much info? You will now be able to select the following features (Breaking News, Cheatsheets, Players in the News, Monday Injury Report, Upgrades/Downgrades, Waiver Wire report, Sleepers, Rushing/Passing Matchups, Random Shots) and decide which ones you want delivered to your inbox.
Full redesign of the website - The new layout will not debut until late June/early July, but efforts are already underway to get Footballguys.com a new professional looking website. The goal is easier navigation and tighter integration of content while updating the look.

I love FBG and have subscribed every year. And I will do so again this year. That said, I'm not sure what is compelling about the 3 year price. One year is $21 and three years is $61. That is theoretical savings of $2. I suppose it just comes down to a hedge against rising prices in the future.![]()
earlybird yr1 price is $21...then $26signing on for the 3yr deal locks down the $20.32 price/yr for 3 yrs--of course, if there is no price increase over that time, there is no big dealI love FBG and have subscribed every year. And I will do so again this year.

Why would you limit the 3 year membership option to 2,000? What's the reason behind that? Why not get as many paying customers as possible?FBG is now taking subscriptions:

That is an understatement if its as great as it sounds. It works like this:1. You go to an admin area, where you can define up to 5 "profiles."Just so I understand the MyFootballGuys option..
I have a team with Yahoo and one with MFL, obvisouly they both have different scoring systems. This option will allow you to customize scoring system for both teams CORRECT ?? Of course, if that is the case then all the stats presented wil be based on your own individual scoring sytem for each team ?
How many teams can you have in your MyFootballGuys account ?
The reason I ask, I've seen some sites let you put in mulitple teams but with only one scoring system. Which is useless..
Ckev
2. With each profile, you associate a scoring system. This includes the money positions, as well as PK, TD, and IDP.
3. With each profile, you name the players (and/or Team Ds) that you want be associated with that profile.
4. You then set a "default" profile if you want. Or you can opt to have FBG scoring be your default.
5. Now when you go to, say, look at the current year's stats, they will be sorted according to your default scoring system and your default players will be highlighted so you can easily find them. There will be a menu at the top that will allow you to switch the same page from one profile to another.
I think you're going to like it.
Yes I'd like to know as wellIs there an easy way to check how long I am paid up for?
Can you talk your attorneys into lifting the prize ban in Florida?Yes it will be $35,000 this year (We are eliminating the $10,000 part 2 of the contest going forward). The contest should be a lot better too as we are not dictating how many of each position you must take (just constrained by salary and total roster spots so one team may have 2 QBs and another might have 5). We are also tweaking the scoring to create more variability between the lineups. Full contest rules will be posted soon.Coolness!I assume the big contest is coming back, too?
Hi Acer,Thanks for signing up for the 3 year deal. The Footballguys magazine has always been a completely separate thing from the online subscription. It's much of the same content, just easier to take to the bathroom...I bought the 3 year deal. I was not planning on buying any mags this year, however, I thought the FBG mag comes with subscription. Am I wrong here. I noticed somewhere that it says you need a seperate subscription for the mag? Just curious

I keep saying I am not going to buy the magazine because paper is outdated and everthing is on the site anyway, the Joe and David keep promising me they are going to put the winning ticket in with my magazine. :( And I keep buying it year after year.Go wirelessHi Acer,Thanks for signing up for the 3 year deal. I think Florida is legal these days. Joe mentioned something about this last year...any idea when we can expect an announcement? No we will really cut it off at 2,000. It makes no sense selling a ton of these for us unless we had a need for the money (big acquisition or something). Now tell the truth... y'all are gonna really sell 10,000 of those 3 year subscriptions huh? Just between you and me. Marketing ploy?![]()

Also, referring the people in your leagues that are having a little trouble, and not your main competitors is a good strategy (if they keep it to themselves.) Chances are the guys that do poorly will improve some, but not put the effort in to become dominant (or they might, have you to thank for it, and that is even more fun to have another guy to talk to as opposed to just telling them what you think they should do.)PS. I think leagues become more fun when everyone knows more.Any thoughts on creating a "referral discount" (i.e., give an existing FBG a ~$5 membership discount for referring a new subscribing member to the site)? This referral discount could even be offered after the early bird discount, therefore making the discount effectively free. The key to growth is to remove the barriers to growth. The primary barrier to FBG growth is that there is a competetive advantage in keeping the site and its value hidden from others. As a result, I currently don't tell some 60+ other fantasy footballers about FBG since I don't get anything in return. Of these 60+ people, 30 would almost certainly become new subscribers who wouldn't even notice the $20 per year fee. Just looking at my example, there is ~$600/year in unrealized potential revenue for FBG. If FBG can provide an incentive to current members to spread the word about FBG to new potential members, the net result can only be very positive to the site's bottom line.
go to your account details section after you login.. it should say when the end date of all your subscriptions is.my lifetime sub ends 3/31/2017.. guess they know something we don't.Any chance of to see or add to my controls "Manage Account"? This would be useful so we can track what we have paid for (ie - paid through 2009 etc). Example: I won a 3 year subscription last year after I had already paid for 2006 so I would like to see under my controls validation for this. Another example, I pay for 3 years now, so I could see the years paid. Just a thought for user accounting purposes.

Funny, I go to the login and end up in 2006 ... great to be groovin' with the oldies .. and I don't see anything refering to my account details?? ... although it should show a new extension thru to Feb/2010 ... very strange stuff this!go to your account details section after you login.. it should say when the end date of all your subscriptions is.my lifetime sub ends 3/31/2017.. guess they know something we don't.Any chance of to see or add to my controls "Manage Account"? MyFBG is fully written, but is just waiting on the re-design to make it look pretty. I'd estimate (not guarantee, mind you, but estimate) that you'll be able to dig into it around July 4. You're going to like it.
