QB Easton Stick, LAC (1 Viewer)

Was looking at him today. 5th year in the league. Never started. Almost never played. Before last week had thrown only 1 pass in the NFL. Seems like a recipe for disaster to rely on him.

Watch this guy become this year's fantasy playoffs hero. Crazier **** had happened. That's for sure.

Pop Fisher: You know my mama wanted me to be a farmer.
Roy Hobbs: My dad wanted me to be a baseball player.
Pop Fisher: Well you're better than any player I ever had. And you're the best G*d damn hitter I ever saw.

People hated the Hollywood ending, but that was the only way you could end that treasure of a film. Perhaps I'm showing my bad taste, but I love The Natural. A great, redemptive arc instead of the original noir-ish one.

Let's hope Stick is not a hockey fever dream, but rather a wide receiver concept that Los Angeles wants to run.

It's between "The Natural", "Miracle", and "Hoosiers" as my favorite sports movie of all-time. When Hobbs hits the game winning HR and hits the lights, and him circling the bases with that great music by Randy Newman playing, it sends goose bumps down my back. By the way, I loved the ending. It was appropriate.

257 & 3 TDs ain’t too bad. 🤷‍♂️

Two fumbles lost, including one strip sack for a TD and a pick six as well sort of throw cold water on those stats.

63-21 is not good.

Of course, it's not all on the quarterback, but they didn't move the ball at all until it was 42-0.

23.54 points from Stick last night in one of my leagues. If I was hurting for a QB this week like many are, I'm pretty certain most desperate folks would sign up for that.

Ah - I'm more talking about Stick's ability to produce fantasy points as opposed to arguing that Stick is a good real life NFL QB.

Be honest though, did this look like a possible outcome after 3 quarters? That production is all from the Raiders backing off. Yes it all counts but he was awful.

I thought once the Raiders got up 42-0 that the Chargers would score at least twice. I figured the final score would be about 56-14 or something like that. It was entirely within the range of possibilities at that point, actually.

I don't think Easton Stick is a starting caliber NFL QB. I do think that he offers intriguing fantasy upside to owners who have lost Burrow/Herber/Cousins/Richardson etc. I'm a JMU grad, so I followed Stick at NDSU and know he's a far better athlete than most of the backups in the league. If I'm GIff Smith, I tell Kellen Moore to completely unleash Stick's ability to run the football over the last 3 weeks since they really have nothing to lose.

They did though...didn't they?

What's Taylor Heieneke doing there? There's not much to him, either, but one would have to imagine he's surpassed Stick by now, and I loved Easton Stick in college.

Heieneke's ceiling as an NFL QB is pretty low, but I think it's higher than Stick's.

Alex Insdorf
Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh asked if Easton Stick would start if Herbert can't go: "I'm not gonna reveal what any of the contingencies are."
Why would a reporter ask that question? Just look at the depth chart.

Well I imagine it's because the reporter is thinking, "you aren't really going with Stick right?" Stick is awful. I imagine most all of us chargers fans are hoping Heinicke is ready to go instead of Stick.
