As we've seen all too often, only the hooded one knows. Is there a way this guy can get Galloway's job or does it have to be Welker?
I noticed the same thing. Edelman could have had 12+ recs pretty easily.I was at this game. Edelman dropped a lot of passes right on his hands. so many bobbles I could not believe it. What I took from Edelman's stats is how much Brady really relies on Welker. Much more than Moss to move the chains.
You need to keep in mind he's a converted QB.I was at this game. Edelman dropped a lot of passes right on his hands. so many bobbles I could not believe it.
But dropped passes kill drives. plain and simple. You need to keep in mind he's a converted QB.I was at this game. Edelman dropped a lot of passes right on his hands. so many bobbles I could not believe it.
Well yeah, obviously. I was just pointing out that as part of the reason why he might drop a lot of balls. But dropped passes kill drives. plain and simple. You need to keep in mind he's a converted QB.I was at this game. Edelman dropped a lot of passes right on his hands. so many bobbles I could not believe it.
With all due respect, that's simply not true (you might have mistaken him for Galloway on a couple of occasions). I watched most of the game live (on TV) & was surprised by your comment. I watched Short Cut just to confirm & Edelman had 1 flat out drop. He turned his head upfield to look for a lane before securing the ball (Edelman will learn to look the ball in as he gets more experience). He touched the ball on a couple of other occasions (off his fingertips), but they were diving/jumping attempts at an inaccurate pass. Some players in this situation tend to get hyped, but Edelman is truly a great find by the Pats.As his incredible short shuttle suggests (3.92), Edelman has all-world quicks/change of direction, is a natural hands-catcher, can break tackles, & he's a football player. Sounds like Welker, LOL. In fact, I nearly fell off my chair when I saw him in his first preseason game because of his resemblance to Welker (playing style). I knew of Edelman in college & planned to keep my eye on him after he got drafted, but he's totally blown my expectations out of the water (as far as how fast he's progressed). In short, I couldn't be more impressed by Edelman's first real action. One thing I really liked is his ability to hang onto the ball after getting a big hit, which is key when you run the kind of routes he does. When you consider Brady missed him wide open at the GL, Edelman could've had an even bigger game. This kid is going to be one helluva FF WR in time. Edelman's transition to WR has been nothing short of amazing.I was at this game. Edelman dropped a lot of passes right on his hands. so many bobbles I could not believe it. What I took from Edelman's stats is how much Brady really relies on Welker. Much more than Moss to move the chains.
I'm still stumped about Welker. I will post if I find out more, but I was under the distinct impression that he was going to play. Looks like it literally was decided before the game not to play, as he practiced and warmed up with the team and then went back to get dressed into street clothes for the game. I wonder if he aggravated it in warm ups. :shuked:Maybe not the best thread, but I will ask regardless. Yesterday morning before church, Mr. Yudkin told on the injury thread that he had heard of no reason that Welker was any more liklely to sit week two than week one when he caught 12 passes. I know that Belichek will not detail the injuries and all, but what is known about Welker's injury? Will Edelman only stay involved as a replacement for Welker?
It's Tuesday. We won't know until Sunday morning. So what's the status on Welker?
has anyone ever debated this fact?? not sure I get the point of this comment.. Are you stating that a players value sometimes comes directly from the situation he's thrown in??..wow that's truly innovating..Fact is he is in NE and he's going to be a beast in fantasy leagues -PPR. He's a perfect fit there and is as good as NE needs him to be. Could use a little less unexperienced/unknowledgeable "analysts" and more info regarding the subject of the OP.Just goes to show you that with Tom Brady, a guy like Randy Moss demanding coverage, and the Patriots overall system, putting up good numbers as their possession receiver really is something a lot of NFL WRs could easily do. Welker is nothing special. I have said that for years. He is a good possession receiver...nothing more, nothing less.
Me too - if Welker is out I am seriously considering putting him in over Garrard in a ppr.I like how Yahoo lists Edelman as a QB, WR in my league.
Not sure why Yahoo hasn't switched Edelman to WR.Me too - if Welker is out I am seriously considering putting him in over Garrard in a ppr.I like how Yahoo lists Edelman as a QB, WR in my league.
