Edelman Broke his Arm (1 Viewer)

And the Patriots have listed him as "questionable" for next week.

Ed: For those who don't get it ... :stalker: . I don't think the injury report was out yet when I posted this.

When does the Brandon Tate hype begin? This kid looked great but was injured 1st then had a pot violation at the combine, Pats took him in the 3rd and got 1st round talent, at some point this season he has to be a viable option for them.

Broken arm is vague...if it is the forearm I could see him playing quickly if its a hairline fracture.

So the OP completely made up the part about Edelman being listed as Questionable. Nice.

The actually weekly designations are only assigned on Fridays. So whatever source is listed him as questionable is doing so on their own and it's not official. We have been discussing similar designations all season, stemming mostly from listings on CBS, Yahoo, MFL, etc. when no injury report was even out yet.

That being said, it has not come out yet when the injury occured and how sever it is. The range is anywhere from hairline fracture (and perhaps a wrap or soft cast with little to no missed time) to a major fracture (and thus potentially season ending).

Given that BB said yesterday the team has no plans to put any of their injured players on injured reserve, I'm guessing it's not a season ending injury.

I'm hearing that it happened in the 4th quarter of the Tennessee game following a 4 yard reception from Brian Hoyer.

Moss and Welker always get theirs. Could this be a sneaky week in the passing game for Faulk?

I saw that he didn't play again after that catch, so I guess the assumption is he got hurt on that particular play. Whether that was the play or not, he probably won't be playing this week and we'll have to wait and see what they say about it (if anything).

So the question is, who moves into the WR3 spot? Depth chart lists Aiken. Thoughts?
You guys are late to the party on this one. This was already discussed in other threads last night. The options will include Aiken, Tate (coming of the PUP list), Nunn (as a call up from the practice squad), or a street free agent.I don't see any of those as exciting fantasy options. Here's what the #3 receiver has put up each week this year (counting Edelman as WR2 when Welker was out) . . .Edelman 6-43-0Edelman 3-15-0Aiken 1-26-0Galloway 2-14-0Galloway 5-53-00-0-0 (No other receiver had a reception against the Bills other than Moss and Welker)That seems pretty meh production wise.

Sorry - I thought the "rolling eyes" were enough to indicate the intended sarcasm. I was digging on the Patriots tendency to list everyone as questionable, whether they have a slight bruise or a torn MCL/ACL. To be clear, let me spell it out for you... :sarcasm:

Brandon Tate is listed on the IR in our league.
I've seen some sites list him as such, but that is not accurate. Tate had to miss the first 6 games having been on the PUP list. I believe he already has started practicing this week and the Pats have 21 days to do something with him from the time he returned to the practice field (meaning they have to put him on the active roster, place him on I.R., release him, or put him on one of the other obscure can't play lists).

Thanks. It came across as you rolling your eyes at the Patriots.
It was.
Agree, I am calling BS on the OP.
MFL has Edelman listed as out for this week when the injury report hasn't even come out yet. I suspect other league management sites will have him listed as Q, D, or O this week as well. I don't think any of this has to do with the Pats or the OP. It's just the way sites list player injuries.

.....waiting for someone to say something like he shouldn't have even been in the game at that point.I mean, some on here probably think NE shouldn't have even fielded 11 guys after halftime of that game.

The Globe mentioned when he came out of the game, so I believe deductive reasoning has him getting hurt on that play.

Has there been any news on the severity of his forearm injury? When Fred Taylor went in for surgery it was known. If Edleman's arm is broken then wouldn't that require surgery to reset the bone? If so, wouldn't that have been done by now? Is he travelling with the team to London? I haven't seen anything other than the fact that he has not practiced with the team this week.

Taylor's situation was an anomally. Being the new kid on the block, he spilled the beans to a Florida newspaper (which is a faux pas based on the Pats mantra of keeping your mouth shut). As for broken bones, you don't usually require surgery to repair what's broken (although it would depend on what broke and how severe). Edelman did not make the trip to London. But there is no other info available as of yet.
