What's up with this promising young player? He just can't seem to get it going at all. Anyone still have faith? I'm about to cut ties in my 14 team league. I also have Mike Lowell at 3B.

Unless he gets a trade he is not going to help you a lot in AAA. I had drafted him, cut him as I needed the roster spot, picked him back up when he FINALLY went yard and then waived him again. If you hvae the roster spot you could always sepculate with him, but unless your league is really really deep he probably has very little value until he gets traded for bullpen help.

The Reds severely over-reacted here.

I'm waiting for him to get dropped in my leagues, then plan to grab him. If he's not dropped, I'll try to get him cheap in a trade. I believe!!

I agree. Long term it may help EE though. Seems he needed to be shaken up with some attitude issues and it's better that he play every day vs. 4 days a week now. It's only a matter of time before one or more of Griffey or Freel get hurt and I think EE will be back.

My guess is they'll trade him and gonzalez for three overrated pitchers.

oh, the reds already did that w/ kearns and lopez.

Terrible move by the FO, but he'll be back by June 10.

He's hitting well in Louisville, but has 3 errors in 4 games thus far.

That said, there is rumor that Joey Votto (almost won the triple crown last year in AA) may move to the OF and they try EdE at 1B...

God I hope not. EdE has great range, hands and a great bat that is starting really slow. His throwing is what's killing him. Keep in mind that he's still really young and throwing problems usually are a mechanical issue (ie. can be corrected).

All this being said, he got demoted Thursday and reported and played that same day for Louisville. That tells you something about the kid, imo.

Also, it doesn't help when your manager will bench you when you do anything wrong in the field. Does not help a young player's confidence me thinks.

He will be back and he will hit. He's definitely a buy-low guy, but it may be 2-3 weeks.

CINCINNATI (AP) -- The Cincinnati Reds recalled third baseman Edwin Encarnacion from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, and put ailing outfielder Josh Hamilton on the 15-day disabled list.

The 24-year-old Encarnacion took over third base last season, but struggled this year, batting only .218 with one home run while committing six errors. Optioned to Louisville, he hit .413 with three home runs, two doubles and seven RBIs in 11 games.

:coffee: Let's hope the demotion did him some good.
