Electric scooters (1 Viewer)

The latest legislation in response to all the uproar (and all the injuries) is to require riders to wear helmets. I could see that curbing usage, so to speak. I didn't realize it'd become such a huge thing until I saw the personal injury lawyer billboard aimed specifically at recruiting injured scooter riders.

What area is this legislation in?  I wonder if anyone has suede for tripping over them.  That's my only gripe with what I saw in San Diego.  If there are designated parking areas for them that would be better.

After nearly getting run down by a group of total idiots riding these things full speed on the sidewalk in downtown SA this past weekend, I am happy to announce that the city has banned scooters from sidewalks in San Antonio effective June 30th. Way overdue.

I was in Nashville 2 months ago..saw this really fat guy going way too fast down a hilly street..did not have good enough balance and started wobbling, next thing you know he clips the curb and face plants right into the concrete.  The guy had serious injuries.

Ride these things once a week probably. Love that they are all over downtown if I need to get somewhere quickly

Uber Jump pulling 2,000 electric scooters and 2,000 electric bikes from SA as the city decides to limit the number of permits the city will release. Another win for SA.

Glad to hear it. Hoping for a similar result, if not a complete ban, here when the pilot timeframe is up. I'd be fine with them, but people are idiots so no thanks. This is why we can't have nice things.
