Emergency (streaming) QBs for ROS? (1 Viewer)

Yeah, I lost Watson as many of us did.  I also had Rodgers as my starter at the beginning of the year (dynasty).  Miraculously, I have Cam Newton, but I can't really trust him - plus his bye is still coming up.

Anyway, I know many (especially dynasty teams) are left in a lurch with Rodgers and/or Watson, thought I'd start a thread about potentially streaming Qbs from here on.

Cutler (vs Raiders #21 pass defense, in primetime Sunday night), Bortles (v Bengals #4 pass defense), Hundley (vs Lions #25 pass defense), Savage (vs Colts #31 pass defense), Brissett (at Texans #22 pass defense), and Flacco (at Titans #18 pass defense) are the best FA options for this week (and possibly rest of season) in my league, and I would assume in many others.  Who's the play this week?

ROS may be different than this week but right off the bat,  but I would eliminate Flacco and Hundley.

Cutler is not playing well and would go to the bottom of the list.

Bortles and Brissett are OK in a pinch and would probably get you 200 yards/TD/INT most weeks.

Savage has good WRs but has not played well.  Maybe that changes after a few weeks but I have my doubts.

After all that, I would go with Bortles or Brissett.

Yeah, just meant that I'll be keeping this thread up (hopefully) for ROS.

I'm honestly thinking Brissett or Cutler this week.  Bortles has two poor matchups, then better ones down the stretch.

Gotta play Cam most weeks if you have him.
And I likely will - but with my luck you never know if he'd go down.  Also, his bye is still coming up so I'll have to deal with this anyway.  Others may not be so lucky, so I thought I'd start this for all those who have lost their go to QB for the year.

Lost Rodgers & was left with nothing. Had to trade for Rivers & picked up McCown off the ww. Trying to trade for a better QB, but no luck so I may just move Rodgers straight up for a RB or WR. Might be able to get Kelce straight up for Rodgers. Then I'd move Gronk for an upgrade elsewhere.

Is Garoppolo an option? Or Bridgewater? I'm lost Rodgers and was left for dead and scrambled to get Goff and just added the 2 above.

Not for at least a few weeks - but I'll add them those weeks as streaming options.  I'm not sure Garop will be active this week.

IMO if I needed a QB I'd play the matchup game ROS, mostly going with Bortles

Week 9: Brissett @ HOU
Week 10: Tough call, I'd just go with Bortles vs LAC
Week 11: Bortles @ CLE
Week 12: Bortles @ ARI
Week 13: Bortles vs IND
Week 14: Cutler vs NE
Week 15: Bortles vs HOU
Week 16: Bortles @ SF

Don't know if the listed QB's are all that is available, but I have rolled with Goff and Kenum for the last couple weeks Rodgers has been out.  Playing Goff again this week against a Jenkins-less NYG D that is pretty horrible against the pass this year.

In similar boat, lost Rodgers in 16 team league where nearly all QBs are rostered. I have Bortles, Manning, and Bridgewater rostered (Cutler, Stanton, SF, DEN, and CLE QBs are available on WW).

This week going with Manning, but not thrilled. Hopeful that having his WRs back, and coming off bye, will allow him to have a decent game. ROS, I am hoping my rostered QBs can carry the team, especially if Bridgewater comes back and is effective.

I lost Rodgers in two leagues. One I luckily overdrafted QB hoping to trade. The other was a dynasty and I traded for Ryan. In redraft you might be able to get him cheap since he hasn't done much this year. His playoff schedule is good.

In a deep league Fitzpatrick might be a good stash. Few backups you can trust as low level starters but he is one.

In super deep leagues you might give Kaepernick a spot.

Lost Rodgers and Watson, scooped both Goff and McCown to play matchups with ROS. They're perhaps not available in all leagues.

Good thread.

I snagged Goff the second Watson went down and the ACL tear was confirmed. He seems to be solid in plus matchups and @NYG is considered a plus matchup. Still a little skeptical though especially with LAR travelling east for a 1pm game. Somebody also dropped M. Ryan out of disgust but his matchup @CAR isn't the best.

ROS I'll be streaming. QBs are plentiful since everyone stocks up on RBs/WRs/TEs. I may stick with Ryan due to his playoff schedule and then stream the likes of Big Ben, Dalton, McCown, Cutler.

I started the season with Rodgers and Eli in my dynasty, thinking I was set even if Rodgers went down. With Eli and the Giants looking like crap and losing WR's I dumped Eli for Goff early in the year.

I hate carrying more than 2 QB's but after not being able to make a trade I liked, I decided to grab a bunch of QB's and play the match ups. I now have Goff, Hundley, McGown, and just picked up Flacco with a decent playoff schedule.I know everyone is down on Flacco but I thought he started to look good the last game before the concussion. He also was out all pre season and it took a while to get the offense rolling. He is a free roll of the dice stash to see if the Ravens can get it together as the season moves on.

QB is the easiest position to stream plug and play guys pending the match ups. Quite often you see teams win the FF championship with a streaming type QB.

Brady bye week...going with Brisset.  Weighed those options above and Dalton (that matchup sucks).

Picked up Brisset and hoping for the best.

My league gives quarterbacks points based on volume and accumulation of numbers as opposed to quality playing. Completions are a point each. Therefore, I am looking at streamers that may be down early and throw late (garbage time). Game scripts can be tough to predict in this league bc of any given Sunday. Does anyone else use completions as a point and if so how do you evaluate ww guys? So you consider game script heavily? Wondering if Hundleys possible favorable game script may out weigh Mariota abilities but tough match up and possible unfavorable script.

Dalton and brisset pairing seems to make sense on paper. Both have high ceilings and very low floors... Problem I see with bortles is against bad teams he might not put up great stat lines since they could be salting away clock

I recall in the preseason fbgs has suggested qb pairings, maybe they can offer updated pairing ideas

Brissett and Cutler both with huge games - but dumb me still started Cam, which cost me the game.  Brissett plays Pitt this weekend, then has a bye.  Not sure I want to hold him during that when he'd still have a horrible playoff schedule.  Might have to pick Cutler back up, dude has some great matchups coming up, other than this coming week.

You should be fine.

I lost both Watson and Rodgers in av2 start, the downgrade to Goff wasn't bad, Mariota could be alright ROS too.

If you need cheaper, keep an eye on Minnesota. If keenum keeps the job he's been decent, in redraft Teddy should be cheap enough if he starts.

What are the odds of that?

Would I be crazy to drop McCown for Cutler?

Also, thinking more dynasty - are we 100% certain that Luck will be back healthy, and playing for Indy next year?  Those are two different points, mind you.  He could be healthy, but not want to play for Indy.  Is there any chance Brissett has more than just this year?

I now have all 3 for the moment. Goff did me right yesterday.

I went against the "experts" this week and started Cutler.  May end up giving me a win.  He went for 311 and 3 last night.  He has Carolina this week, which isn't a great match up, but after that he gets TB (29th ranked vs. QB) and NE twice (32 ranked vs, QB) in 3 of 4 weeks.  Tough recommendation with his history but his last 3 games, he has thrown, 2, 2, and 3 tds.

Things have changed in 10 days. I am now looking at:

Cutler - TB, @NE, DEN,@NE, @BUF, @KC, BUF

Gabbert - @HOU, JAC, LAR, TEN, @WAS, NYG, @SEA

Fitzpatrick - @MIA, @ATL, @GB, DET, ATL, @CAR, NO

Intrigued by:

Peterman - @SD, @KC, NE, IND, MIA, @NE, @MIA

Teddy but his match ups are not as good as the above

Kizer intrigues me ROS.  Getting coleman back and possibly the man who's name i will not mention.
He's completing only 52% of his passes and has a 4-12 TD-INT ratio.  He's lost and wasn't ready to start and is only doing so because they have no better options.   He could be getting Julio Jones and Antonio Brown, playing SF every week, and he still wouldn't be a starter unless it was a 32 team league.

Good thread. I invested in Watson in every league. After the injury I traded for Newton just before the deadline in the hopes CAR was changing their gameplan. First game out was pretty good albeit vs the Phins.

The absurd thing is Watson got hurt after all the other viable FAs, like Goff, had been snagged. And byes mean everyone's carrying 2 QBs. Bad timing.

I think Flacco is a good target for those with playoff byes locked up. Browns and Indy in weeks 15 and 16.

This is for the desperate only.

Outside of Peterman the only QB I see maybe emerging late is Hundley. His QB rating is up but he's not getting TDs.

I'm working with the quartet or hundley, keenum, gabbert and tyrod taylor.   don't like keenum this week at Carolina but deciding between him and gabbert.  I started the season with Watson and rodgers

Don't over think it. Keenum is must-start ROS

Yup since I "lost" Winston for the year, I've been rolling with Keenum ever since.  That's about the point where my season turned for the better.

THat's brave. I guess if all you have is Tyrod or something, but no way would I drop Rivers, McCown, Goff or Stafford for him
Yeah, all of those guys are riding others benches in my league. I'm choosing between the likes of Keenum, Gabbert, Flacco, Jimmy G, etc. I thought Tyrod was safe. Oh well....

Cutler will have 300 yards and 2-3 TD's this week...  I'm starting him over Wilson and not even worried about it. Cutler had a good game against Denver last week, and I see it carrying over to the NE game... I would bet anything he outscores Wilson this week too.I'll be back Sunday to tell you I told you so.... My gut is almost NEVER WRONG.It's a gift from the FF Gods.
