Completely disagree. I don't know what games you're watching, but the vast majority of the time when a guy is laying on the ground, the crowd waits with pensive silence to await him getting up, and they cheer their asses off when he gets up and walks off on his own power or raises a thumb from a stretcher. When cheering an injured player on your own team occurs, it's a reflection of a frustrated fan base that, collectively, has let its priorities become pathologically out of whack. That is precisely where the KC fan base is right now. I'm not letting them off the hook that easily. They should take a good, long look at themselves in the mirror before going to the next home game.I think this has happened in other towns, people get frustrated, it's not a reflection on KC, whole cities or the fans.
So is the home team starting QB liked by the fans? Or are the fans waiting for a reason to get rid of him and cheered the injury as way to get their wish? One is better than the other? I'm really not twisting your reasoning, you're reasoning is twisted all on its own."Yay, he's laying on the field with a head injury! Now he'll have to go to the bench!" Sorry, I'm not seeing the difference.'Stinkin Ref said:only for discussion sake and even though it really shouldn't matter....I will comment that I do not see the two instances as the same considering one player was a hated rival....the other is the home teams starting QB....again it does not matter.....no injury should be cheeredtwisting my reasoning is not working.....I simply think many fans were excited that Quinn was getting a chance and coming into the game.....should they maybe have waited until Cassel was off the field before expressing their excitement....most definately....'Amused to Death said:I simply think it is ok to feel for a player getting hurt and hope that he is ok....but then also thinking that his replacement may make things better for your team then they were when the guy that got hurt was in.....Winston the media is assuming that all of the fans were glad Cassel Irvin got hurt....I just don't think that is the case....'Stinkin Ref said:if they were cheering because they were glad he got hurt...that's not coolbut let's say he pushes a ref or throws a punch and gets kicked out and that causes him to leave the field......cheer all you want for that weapon leaving...'Amused to Death said:But what if Eagles fans were just cheering the fact that a big opposing weapon just left the field but not the injury? Even if its an injury that caused him to leave the field.
So Eagles fans are off the hook now by your reasoning? Not picking on you, just playing devil's advocate and applying your defense of KC fans to the Irivn situation that Eagles fans have been persecuted for 13 years.

I'll assume you are joking here. Otherwise, WTF is the marketing department holding a churro contest while a player is down with injury?!I was there. At the same time of the injury, a woman in the stands won the FREE CHURRO contest. The fans were applauding the announcement on the Jumbotron, not Cassell being taken off.

Why? The media is the problem. They sit on these shows and write in these articles some shady stuff and bash people after they were nice to them to their face in the locker room just so they can get a sound bite.Only thing I didn't like about this soapbox session was him taking a shot at the media for "killing him" or whatever. I don't like it when athletes publicly complain about media criticism. Always rubs me the wrong way.
