I'm considering him too (either him or Boley). I'm surprised he's so low on the projected rankings, given their LB situation, the scorekeeping in Indy, and the tackle opportunity presented by the Texans. Last week does feel pretty flukey though.
Sounds like Wheeler is out. I'm starting Sims if that's the case. Indy's scorer is generous with assisted tackles. I'd expect 8-10 tackles from Sims against Houston tonight.
It looks like Edds is back as well. I know he had backed up Angerer previously, but I'm not sure if that would have any impact on rotations and make Sims lose some snaps?
I don't think there are any obstacles to him playing every down, but I think Sims has the biggest boom-bust profile of any tackle-centric IDP this week.
The Texans matchup sets up really well for him -- should provide plenty of opportunity, both in rush attempts and underneath passes.
But Sims did most of his box score damage cleaning up his own coverage messes last week. I doubt the Texans will have a 19 rush - 57 pass split tonight. Whether Sims can hold up effectively against the run is a major question. Then there's the assisted tackle risk. The Colts are much more likely to get solo tackles in the open field; nearly every contested tackle will be assist-assist.
I think it's very possible that Sims could make 12-14 tackles tonight. Whether more than 3-4 of those are solos is the question.
I like the matchup enough to call him a LB3 with LB1 upside (esp if your league scores assists and solos equally), but his floor could be below replacement level.
