ESPN Doesn't Seem To Be Backing Down About Caddy's Back (1 Viewer)

So either Cadillac or ESPN are lying. Didn't Caddy and the Bucs completely dismiss these rumors?

Sure, it's possible. But when Caddy AND the Bucs organization is denying it, it starts to make me wonder about ESPN. Some stories they've had come out lately have me wondering if they are trying to CREATE news, rather than reporting it...

Yup. The TO coverage from last season convinced me of this already.Leinart will start last week, Caddy's back, etc. They are the story.

If on the off chance they are correct, and Caddy is seriously hurts, who is the backup that steps up there (if any)?

Pittman is the backup. He stepped in & did very well a few times last year. He had a solid season as the starter the year before.

Cadillac is fine. He's money for at least a buc and a score against the Saints next week. He had no room to run against 8 man fronts and has had limited 2nd half opportunities.

If he is playing hurt, he's showing no signs on the field (although the numbers would certainly disagree).

How is this going to change?
Haven't you heard? Tampa Bay has Bruce Gradkowski lining up at QB now. Just the threat is going to keep defenses from stacking against the run.

One thing that could help Caddy is Gradakowski's mobilty. Just the threat of him taking off, Ds will have to keep a LB spying him at all times, almost Vick-like. It's only three games and Tampa was a playoff team last year. If Caddy is healthy, and he's looked good lately, he'll be fine. I'm buying.

:goodposting: I like this line of thinking.

This is great schtick!

Leinart was going to start last week. Denny Green changed his mind. And Mort's original report said (paraphrasing), "Barring a change of heart by the coaching staff, Leinart will start". How would you have liked him to report it differently? If they hadn't said a word and Green went forward with it, people would be #####ing that nobody let them know about Warner's benching soon enough to react to it.

That was not his initial report. That was the subsequent reports when he started backpedaling. His first report, an hour or so before the Monday night game went something along the lines of, "Green won't commit to QB Kurt Warner, so we'll go ahead and report that Matt Leinart is starting next week versus the Falcons." If he had a source, he didn't mention it during the first report and sounded like he was just throwing it out there to see if it stuck. The fact is everyone in the world knew that Kurt Warner was on a short leash and Green not defending him in the Monday press conference would lead one to believe that Leinart was an option. I believe in their haste to be the first, they reported what they thought was likely as fact and later started backpedaling in case they were wrong.

The difference was night and day when Simms wasn't throwing INTs 2 plays into every drive. Near the end of the 2nd half and early 2nd half when he was looking like the QB of last year, Cadillac was running just fine. One can imagine how bad a rookie QB might be, but it won't be worse than going down two scores in every game in the first quarter.Doesn't really matter to me if you listen or not... but he's a phenomenal buy-low value right now, and I'm scooping him up for beans in most of my leagues. You won't be able to pry him from reserved owners after next week.

I wish I had the video. I would swear he included a disclaimer the night he reported it.

Except that this week, all over talk radio in Phoenix, you can hear Denny Green acknowledging he changed his mind after a hasty decision last week. I think what you're looking at here is a case of someone in the organization telling a reporter something they shouldn't have prematurely, the coach trying to save his relationship with his starting QB after having a change of heart, and then the truth coming out after the fact.

Just love the people patting themselves on the back for buying Caddy low.

Have fun with what you just bought into

Week 13 Dec 3 @Pittsburgh 1:00pm

Week 14 Dec 10 Atlanta 1:00pm

Week 15 Dec 17 @Chicago 1:00pm

Week 16 Dec 24 @Cleveland 1:00pm

Week 17 Dec 31 Seattle 1:00pm

The only value here is the name and week 16, which you won't be playing in anyway.
