ESPN Fantasy Problems? (1 Viewer)

I am in a 10 team espn league with some buds. It clearly says in settings that the playoff seeding tie breaker is head to head record. It was set that way the entire season. Me and another guy in the league have the same record. He beat me in the regular season and we only played once. I assumed since the setting say tie breaker is head to head record that the other guy would get the 2 seed with the bye and I would get the 3rd seed without a bye. I did score more total season points than the other guy but he did beat me the only time we played. This morning I log into ESPN and it shows me in the 2 spot with the bye. The commish went in and manually put the other guy into the 2 seed. Wonder why ESPN gave me the 2 seed when league setting clearly say head to head tie? Got my hopes up for nothing lol. Anybody else have this problem?

Was there a 3 way tie with the same record? If so and there is no unanimous winner then it goes total points first.

If I am not mistaken as I am in an ESPN league as well:

H2H Sweep of all teams in questions

Total Points

Points Against

Repeat as many times as needed to get all tie-breakers start at top each time

Earlier this season my ESPN league took H2H into account when two teams were tied with the same record, so I can't say why it didn't work for you.

As someone else posted, were these the only two teams with the same record, or were there more than two?

it was a three way tie but i cant find where espn says in the case of a 3 way tie it defaults to most points. this is from the website:

How do playoff tie breakers work?
PLAYOFF SEEDING & TIE-BREAKERS
When your league converts into playoff mode the system automatically generates a seed for each team in the league based on the regular season results. The seeds determine where the system places each team in the playoffs. The primary factors which determine seeds are:
  1. Division Winner(s)
  2. Winning Percentage
In the event that two or more teams have the same winning percentage at the conclusion of the Regular Season, League Managers are able to select from the following options as a tie-breaking system to determine seed (the options below are also set in the default order for tie breakers):

  • Head-to-Head Record*
  • Overall points scored (Default setting for all leagues unless changed by League Manager)
  • Division record
  • Overall points-against
* When Head-to-Head record is selected as the tiebreak criteria, and in the event that three or more teams have the same winning percentage at the conclusion of the Regular Season, these teams must have played the same number of games for this criteria to be used.

I need it in writing lol. money league.

The commish put me back to 2nd. The 5th and 6th spot had a 4 way tie and the commish doesn't have the head to head wins to make the playoffs. The commish only made the playoffs because of most points and it being a 4 way tie. He can't bump me down a spot and not bump himself down for the same reason lol.

Thanks guys for the info :tebow:
