Wouldn't this affect the effort they put forth in the remaining games of the season, giving teams that play them a weird sort of advantage?I think that's a good idea too. You wouldn't punish other AFC teams for giving the Jets a win (although the true outcome will now be never known). The rest of the AFC will be on even competitive ground.Elimination from the playoffs is a much better solution. It has no effect on the other teams. When college teams cheat on paying player they get the same type of punishment. Maybe a 3 year suspension from the playoffs would be even better. And it would have not effect on fantasy football.Serious question: Is there precedent for overturning the results of a game? Because the butterfly effect from that would be difficult to judge. I bet Goodell does not invent new consequences, but levies a harsh version of something that has been done before. Suspension or loss of multiple draft picks seems the most logical answer.
@ the haters swarming.... funny how the seem to be primarily Steelers/Raiders/Jets fans.... good comedy.
