I don't watch but that's also the impression I got from my wife and her gossip magazines, and from the clips I saw on The Soup or whatever. That's why I'm curious what informed the opinion of Todem and others that she's an "attention whore who has made his life about reality TV" and that she is exploiting her transgender identity for personal gain.
The context of my post is that kids are killing themselves. How you ignore that and see some other context is your burden to explain. You and millions of other people like you defining the world around them is why they kill themselves. Justify what you do however you wish. I know you have to sleep at night because you obviously have no intent to change.
Why is this vilified so much? Why cant she both be a help to other trans people and make money at the same time? If it were me, I dont think I'd refuse the piles of money that were being thrown at me and I dont think it somehow invalidates what she's doing.

Has anybody asked why now? He has had plenty of opportunity in his 60 plus years to make the change...He gets divorced from the Kardashian family and is about to fade away out of the limelight...Hmmmm.

You think it would have been easier if she'd done it earlier? Congress passed and a Democratic president signed DOMA just nineteen years ago. The sort of tolerance and basic human decency that allows more people to feel more comfortable with their gender or sexual identities is a pretty new development, and obviously still a work in progress. She would have been shamed and destroyed by the public 20 years ago, maybe even ten or five years ago.
His body is male, and he is attracted to the female body. His mind however is wired as feminine. Some people's minds are wired to be left handed, which some would say is abnormal, but until there is a way to make them right handed, they have to function in a world designed for right handed people while being left handed. The only difference between that and being transgender is the world doesn't vilify left handed people like they do transgender people.

Where did I say I was repelled by people who are different? I find transexuality specifically to be abnormal and I find Jenner in particular of that group to be a freak.

No person would do this- and absorb the incredible amounts of criticism and scorn and ridicule that come with it (Exhibit A- this thread) just to make money and get attention. There are many, many ways a public figure could make money that are less burdensome than coming out as transgender. Add to that the fact that she's already very wealthy and famous and it makes absolutely zero sense that Jenner would change her gender just for attention and money. Our entire present day society is seemingly built upon the notion of people willing to do anything to get on tv and enjoy/bask in the fame/limelight it brings with seeming disregard for however degrading, humiliating or invasive it may be.
