Ever OK to sit for #1? (1 Viewer)

Oh the wild things that dance around your head whilest dealing with insomnia.

Our master bedroom is pretty small and has an attached bath. Like most dudes in their early 40's, I typically get up to take a leak once during the night.

Not that my wife's a light sleeper, but the process does make some noise. So I got to wondering after I went back to bed and couldn't fall back asleep.... what if I just sat down to pee? No noise created, no potential mis-fires (gotta keep the light off, right?)... just a cleaner process, potentially.

And heck, why not just sit all the time? That way you can get your Facebookin' and Words with Friendsin' on for "both" reasons to hit the head.

I do it all the time in the middle of the night when I don't want to turn on the light (to help me go back to sleep) and just want to pee by feel in the dark.

I've been sitting more and more. I have a son who just turned 2, sometimes we go into the bathroom together and if I stand he'll get a little to close while trying to imitate. When I sit, he then sits next to me on his little potty.

I've been sitting more and more due to this over the last month and now do it at night on occasion. If it is just a regular trip to the BR solo during the day, out in public, or any regular trip to the BR I still obviously prefer to stand.

I think it is perfectly acceptable on several occasions:

1. Physical impairment - either disease, injury or being under the influence...sometimes sitting is just safer.

2. Sleepiness/darkness - when standing and aiming has a higher rate of failure.

3. Possibility of a deuce/wet farts - if you feel a little #2 action, sitting for #1 is perfectly OK.

G: You sit to pee?

J: Yeah, I sit whenever I can. I love sitting. Sitting's definitely in my top five favorite activities.
G: What are the others?

J: Eating things. Shutting stupid people down verbally. Bubble baths. Masturbating.
G: Where's sex?

J: Eighth probably.
G: What about sex with me?

J: Seventh, maybe sixth. Yeah, no, sex with you, then sleeping. Unless I have a flying dream. Then you're seventh.

Oh yeah. Way easier to control a kid when you're sitting. You don't wanna be trying to box them out while you're trying to take a leak.

I take a leak maybe 4 times in a day, probably 2 of those times I'll take a dump. I usually sit just in case.

I don't think I've taken a dump in my house without a kid barging in to the bathroom in about 4 months.

GB the wondrous, fully-enclosed marble shrines we have at my office. I spend a good hour total in there on weekdays.

I'm sitting more and more for #1 but standing some for #2. I've lost some marksmanship in the front but it seems to have transferred to the back side.

When drunk. Your aim doesn't have to be as good when you pee outside, unless you're trying to drown an ant hill or something.

That's a visual I didn't need. :yucky:

Unless I've been binge drinking, I can make it to morning without taking a leak. Is this unusual?

I'll hang up and listen.

I'm 50 and almost never get up during the night. Maybe if I was drinking but usually still not. Get up around 5 or 6 am.

Oh, that's still "night" for me. :oldunsure:
Weekends I get up around 8. That's sleeping late...lol

I really have to be drinking heavily not to make it through the night. I sleep until nearly 7 on workdays.

Weekends 9-10

I'm happy but I wonder if it'll just fall apart one. Is it better to eliminate more often?

My son does that too, though less so now. I used to start pissing and he'd run in and "race" me. He of course always "won" because his peanut-sized bladder could fully evacuate in about 2 seconds.

IIRC, many FFAers' wives force them to do this.
I found out over a casual conversation that a friend of mine did this, only to appease his wife. Evidently, a long time ago her ### got wet one night because he forgot to put the seat back down and she got so upset that he decided it would be easier for him to sit on the pot for the rest of his (sad) life. Lost a lot of respect for him after that.

I sit for #1 before bed, any time in the middle of the night, and when I first get up.

-Before bed I tend to read some articles on my phone...I want the quiet time. It's like a #2 without the #2.

-Night I sit for the reasons mentioned...although I just bought a toilet seat with a nightlight, so I do sometimes stand now.

-First get up - I sit and wake up slowly.

FWIW - The lighted toilet seats are a real game changer. I got it just b/c it was only $10 more than the one I wanted, and I thought I'd try it and get bored. My wife and I both love it. Batterys last a LONG time...Installed early July, still going strong. Maybe not needed for a powder room, but for a master bath, it's awesome.

Same, but if I happen to wake up for other reasons I usually have to go.

I'm over 29 :cough: so I find myself sitting more often than not. Okay- almost always at home, never "on the road."

Sidebar: How many of you guys have ever actually cleaned a toilet in a house where men pee? Especially young "men?" It's enough to make you sit down to pee, too.

Anyone else just aim in the shower if sporting wood and the three point stance isn't an option (too drunk, bad toilet logistics, etc)?
