Explosions at Boston Marathon (2 Viewers)

Didn't see this posted earlier - looks like suspect #2 was working out on the UMass campus and went to a party with friends on Wednesday night. Not exactly the activities of someone who just set off some bombs two days earlier.

There is simply no way they expected to be caught on camera and/or captured.

They were going on with life as usual until their pics were blasted all over the world.
FBI received over 10 terabytes of visual evidence. I can't imagine there wouldn be any privacy in a huge event like the marathon. Additionally, he placed a bag in front of Lord & Taylors - the same store that charged his mother with shoplifting. Of all places, wouldn't you think they would have surveillance?

Pretty ballsy of the guy to peek under the tarp before calling the cops.
Was thinking the same thing. Suspect either was out or too hurt to flee? You gotta think he knew someone was checking it out.
Yeah, I wouldn't have had the balls.
Obviously you don't have what it takes to be a Boat Owner!
Happiest days of being a boat owner, buying your boat and selling your boat.
Worst day? Having a terrotist hide in it and bleed all over it.

She got pinched at a different L&T for the record, but yeah...

These two can't honestly believe that all US law enforcement, local and federal, would just never find them, right?
Again, maybe it was naive of them, not realizing there would be a million people taking photographs at the finish line, but I'm sure they just never expected to be caught on camera in a sea of so many people. They didn't have a care in the world.... no disguises.... nothing.
Yeah, Im with you. Non-vet move with not masking their faces and all. Just surprises me I guess. They put all this planning in, and executed their plan, and completely whiff-ed on something that significant? Well, they certainly did. Just a head shaker. Glad they're caught and all, just surprising they missed such a big thing. Unless like you said, they somehow wanted to be caught. Who knows.

Islamic terrorists. What do they teach these guys?
Probably how to make homemade bombs and then evade police right afterwards. They probably never had it where they survived more than a few hours after an attack.
There really isn't the evidence there to say this crime was politically/racially motivated and not enough to say they had training from more experienced terrorists.. Unless I missed something, the news moves fast these days.

Naive? These guys are/were idiots. At the very least you scrub the serial number off the pressure cooker, stop wearing the same hats, have money to get out of town beforehand etc. Murdering ####### morons.
Arrogant is more like it. They thought they got away clean. Went back to their daily lives because they were so smart and no one will ever find out.
Nah, I'm sticking with idiots.

I wish I could have witnessed their "oh crap" moment when the fbi unveiled their pictures yesterday.

"####, let's get out of here."

"Where should we go?"

"Uhhhhh...7-11?"

"Cool."

Weren't they pretty much home free except that a peace activist with mental disorders saved a double amputee's life, who then miraculously survived and ID'd a bomber while still unable to talk? And still, if it'd taken five more days they would have been on another continent?

There is a lot of circumstantial evidence to say the elder brother was certainly politically/religiously motivated and has possible training during his time in Russia.

I have to think there was much more evidence than the description from the witness. Eye witnessess are not the most reliable and when you factor in the injuries and stress experienced, it creates many concerns. The witness was likely just 1 of 100 puzzle pieces that were fitting together.

This story has moved so fast and this thread is likely pushing the record books for posters per hour. Do you have any links to evidence on the terrorist angle?

they were so careless it was like they wanted to get caught
I'd say for a couple of hacks they pulled off a pretty spectacular act of terrorism. Not trying to give them props or anything but they managed to shut down Boston for a day as well as everything that occurred on Monday. Managed more mayhem in a week than al Qaeda has managed to pull off since 9/11.
