Explosions at Boston Marathon (1 Viewer)

That's just crazy if he was unarmed. Did he poke out his head and the police just start shooting? Engine block saved him, but one went straight through his neck?

He could have gotten the neck wound during his shootout on the street with his brother.
That'd be a pretty ####### long day right there. Got in firefight around midnight and suffered a significant throat injury and still managed to hang on until 5pm. Hang him, shoot him, electrocute him, whatever but get some DNA to study.

Why was there so much shooting at the boat?
Uncertainty? So he didn't attempt suicide?
You see where the conspiracy theorists get their bait. All the messed up reporting. But it's not proof of a conspiracy, it's proof of horrific media reporting.
why is it horrific 'media' reporting? The police said there was a shoot out. The media reported what the police said.
You are right, the media has been awesome!

He could have gotten the neck wound during his shootout on the street with his brother.
Possibly.

The final stand-off with police was filmed in infrared from an overhead copter. This video is on YouTube, and has been linked a few times over the past few pages in this thread (sorry, too lazy to find and re-post :D ).

Anyway, there's a part when Dzhorkar's head jerked back suddenly. Originally, it was said that this was when he attempted suicide but instead blew a non-fatal hole through his neck. So now ... ?

I'm sure the mom will now have to be on full-time surveillance....or can they ship her off somewhere?
Or just arrest her (as they should) and watch her in jail.
What did she do that would justify arresting her? Not rhetorical, I haven't followed the mom's story at all.
The parents live in Russia (Dagestan). They left sometime after the mom was arrested (but before she went on trial) for shop lifting at Lord & Taylor's.
so shes a proven flight risk

I didn't understand that at the time either. If they wanted him alive, they sure had a funny way of showing it.
Maybe they brought in the LAPD for practice?
You can tell by the vidoes out there that when he was in the boat ,the guns fired all at the same time, there was no exchange of gun fire. It was just popopopopopopopop.

We realize you have a hard on for the media, but they aren't to blame in this instance.

I don't think the reporting has been awesome. The media does a very poor job with fast breaking and changing information.

Yes, but what's the point?

Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has indicated to investigators he intended to detonate explosives in Times Square, a senior law enforcement official and a New York City official told CNN.

Earlier, New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the brothers may have planned to celebrate the Boston Marathon bombings by driving to New York to "party."

A man who was carjacked and held hostage -- allegedly by the two brothers -- outside Boston last week said he thought he heard the two men say "Manhattan" in their conversation, which was in a language other than English, the commissioner said.

Time and again, Left-leaning campaigners and observers respond to terror attacks in the West by panicking about the possibly racist response of Joe Public – and time and again, their fears prove ill-founded and Joe Public proves himself a more decent, tolerant person than they give him credit for. What this reveals is that liberal concern over Islamophobia, liberal fretting about anti-Muslim bigotry, is ironically driven by a bigotry of its own, by an deeply prejudiced view of everyday people as hateful and stupid. The anti-Islamophobia lobby poses as the implacable opponent of bigotry, yet it spreads a bigoted view of ordinary white folk as so volatile, so brimming with fury, that they are one terrorist bombing away from transforming into an anti-Muslim pogrom. Yes, some prejudiced things have been said about Muslims post-Boston; but far more prejudiced things are being said or implied about ordinary Americans.

Just to frost his ###, I wish they would also charge him with vehicular homicide for running over and killing his brother.

There's not "sudden jerk" of the head. He's barely moving.

I didn't watch the video ... read about it and took it on faith.

KInda weird that "he shot himself" was accepted wisdom, with video proof yet, 48 hours ago. And now, it's "known" not to have happened that way.

I'll buy the book in five years ... maybe some kind of consistent narrative will be worked out by then.

There was no "video proof". The only mention I saw of this "head jerk" was some yokel's comment on youtube.

This is an example of why the narrative has been so inconsistent, because people are spreading information from unsubstantiated sources.

Someone posted a youtube link of the helicopter heat camera (whatever you call it) and it did show a moment where his head went back somewhat quickly but there was no clear evidence that it was due to a self-inflicted gunshot. It could have been any number of things.

Actually a lot of the inconsistent narrative has been coming from "official" sources. I'm not one of the conspiracy theory guys but over half of this story doesn't make any sense. Why did they shoot the cop? Where did they get their money (neither had a job and apparently older brother was on welfare)? Why have none of the suspects (naked guy, etc) that were released come forward and been interviewed?

I've heard that the MIT cop may have been shot in order to get his gun. Luckily, he had a locking holster and they couldn't get the gun.

It does look like welfare money funded these two.

We may or may not hear from naked guy. It depends on if he has some other criminal record. Otherwise, we should be hearing from his lawyer pretty soon.

The carjacking victim has been all over the news, so I'm not who else needs to be interviewed?

How much funding did they need buy pressure cookers and PVC pipe?

I think it's more than just the bomb supplies. Living expenses, they both had cars, the trip to Russia, etc.

Welfare, family, odd jobs paid under the table, illegal activities...those would be my guesses. It's not like they're living in the suburbs with a couple of car payments and a mortgage.

They shot the cop hoping to get his gun, is what officials are saying.

But yes, you sound like a conspiracy theory guy.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, has been moved from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and is being held at the Bureau of Prisons' Federal Medical Center Devens at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, according to a statement by the U.S. Marshals Service.
