Friend of mine set one up to help her afford her Washington Capitals season tickets a few months back.  "I've been a season ticket holder for 3 years, and they raised the price of tickets to a level where I can't afford them.  Please help!"

Because of all the love I'm receiving on Facebook and the overwhelming amount of support I'm getting through the community's reaction, I have come to realize that my dreams are perhaps more valuable than my original asking amount of 2 million. Therefore I have decided to increase my request to 5 million. Thank you all so much for the overwhelming support and look forward to sharing my dreams with you!

saw one yesterday in my community FB group looking to raise $150k to send their kid to college. Seemed like a nice kid who has done some community service and she got accepted to a bunch of big schools including Princeton's Westminster Choir School, but her goal is to get a music education degree??!!! You can do that at a much cheaper school.

really? sorry, i'm saving money for my own kid to go to college.

Perhaps I'm a heartless scrooge but I don't get this one...............

Tragedy has struck one of our very own.. @BlueJays nation help the Alford's get back on their feet!

On December 28th, My husband's family lost everything that they owned in a house fire. Clothes, shoes, furniture, baby supplies for their unborn grandchild, and awards, plaques, and pictures that held such sentimental value, are all gone. Nothing was salvageable.

Today we are asking that you find it in your heart to donate to the Alford's. Anything given will be greatly appreciated.

Help spread the word!

What's not to get? They lost everything they owned. I can't even imagine what that's like.

Here is the direct link in case anyone else wants to donate

That mother ####er has brand new Nikes on.
Yeah, that photo is not the best advertisement for this "homeless project". Was curious to check out their website americansfirst.today they state is in progress. Figured it's just missing the .com so here's what I got:

"Your connection is not secure

The owner of www.americansfirst.today.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website."

I'm bored so I found him on FB and his gf has shared it to her page as well. Can't post on his page, but you can on hers... hehe. Here's her page. https://www.facebook.com/jennifer.brent.18

Creepy. Got a notification that Jonathan Updyke accepted my friend request. I DID NOT request to be his friend. I looked at his page and at his gf's last night to see who these people are scamming for 2 mil, and that's it. I unfriended him. WEIRD!

You probably hit it by accident. I hate how facebook doesn't give you an "are you sure you want to send a friend request?" Message.

Well, I went to school with him and from the two FoGundMe's and the page spammed with awful facebook games, I doubt he's developed an insidious method to harvest facebook friends. At the least, you could kick him five bucks to end homelessness. Heck his last one to develop a perpetual energy machine seems to have done so well.

I really don't think I did. Can you see who's visited your page? I don't facebook much so I don't know what's possible.

I clearly feel a good bit differently about gofundme than do others. My son is into sneakers. He really likes a $1500 pair of Adidas Yeezy's. He said "I'll start a gofundme page". I said sure, why not? If you can find enough people willing to give you money to buy a pair, power to you. I have no problem with people asking for money online for whatever the hell they want. If people decide to give, great. If not, oh well. But I sure ain't buying them.

The baseball travel teams are starting these up again now.   I'm thinking of starting one to finance my family's summer road trip to Niagara Falls.  Seems like pretty much the same thing to me.  Asking others to pay for our vacation.

I'm making mental notes of how many of these kids are in Florida for Spring Break right now.  Same people who are panhandling so they can go to baseball tournaments in the summer.

Yeah, I thought it was bad enough when it looked like the couple planned this all but now even worse knowing the "homeless" dude was in on it too.
