Falcons run defense (1 Viewer)

Finding the Falcons run defense hard to weigh up. They have been without Hartwell all year forcing Brooking inside. At times they have, statistcially at least, been excellent, keeping DeShaun to 54 yards, Cadillac to 37 and Edge to 41. Yet they reverted to last year's type against the Giants last week, though they were hard hit by injuries during that game. For those of us with match-ups coming up (eg Parker for the Steelers this week), do we regard the Falcons as the ultimate in soft run Ds again, or a team likely to rebound from a bad and injury-hit day?

Found this in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Comments?

Barber, who had 115 yards after halftime, said they found a soft spot in the Falcons defense. He didn't divulge it, but New York kept tagging the Falcons off tackle, then bouncing runs outside once its backs got beyond the line of scrimmage.

"We knew how to attack it," Barber said. "You have to give our coaching staff credit for that."

Mora said part of the defensive breakdown could be attributed to the losses of Abraham, Coleman and Kerney, whose injuries are not believed to be serious, but posed enough concern to have all three former Pro Bowl players on the sideline simultaneously.

As of now... Abraham and Coleman are Questionable... Not sure what Kerney and Jackson's Status is but I know their hurting... Which Parker an "Excellent" play and the rest of the Steelers "Good" plays..
