Fanball does not update their injury report (1 Viewer)

I don't know if anyone has had this problem, but it seems that Fanball.com does not update their injury reports on a weekly basis. It's Saturday night and Fanball still has not updated their injury report for the week.

If our league commissioner did not override their system I would have not been allowed to put Javon Walker on injured reserve. I would have had to drop a quality backup (needed a bye week pick up) in a highly competitive league because of Fanball's incompetence.

Has anyone else had this same problem?

Nearly everyone in our league wants to drop Fanball for this reason combined with their constant + annoying commercials.

Injury reserve in football should ONLY mean out for the season. In my baseball league we did away with the DL because of the problem with timing as to when a player actually went on the DL vs what the hosting site says. We just added roster spots instead. In football you shouldn't have a "DL" type of injury system. Again, the IR system in the NFL means OUT FOR THE YEAR.

Perhaps I should have said DL. I disagee. I think there is a need for a DL (or whatever you want to call it)

Why? Does fantasy football exactly mirror the NFL for scoring, etc.? In most cases, no. If you're not in a dynasty league, why even have IR per your suggestion? I am in both dynasty and redraft leagues, and with a short roster, with no IR, you're screwed if a stud player suffers a 3-4 week injury. We play that if he's out on the official NFL injury report, you can IR him to pick somebody up, but as soon as he's upgraded from out, you have to drop somebody. I understand the OP's problem, and if the site operates based on their own info as opposed to official NFL info it would cause a big problem. In the leagues I've participated in, the status required to IR a player varies, but is monitored by the commissioner as well as the rest of the league. And as to the OP's question, I would say check the league setup, and if it's right but you can't override the league management software, change your site.ETA Some leagues call it IR, some, DL and that has a lot to do with dynasty or not, but the point is the same.

My league is having the same exact problem as the original poster. If you have any issues with them their complaint line is 612-332-0865

Not to make excuses for them, but has anyone else noticed the difference in how the NFL is handling the injury reports this year? It used to be that we would get a preliminary official injury report on Wednesdays, later in the day, from the NFL. We have always used this in my league to determine if an owner can IR someone (has to be at least questionable). Our waivers run at 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night, so this was key.

This year, the report that comes out on Wednesday only lists players who are "definitely out" and then it lists who did not practice. Unless I'm missing something, I don't think the NFL is releasing the first official injury report like it always has, listing players as probable, questionable, doubtful, etc. until Friday. Fanball was updated this week once it was released, so I not sure what Thumper is looking for if he didn't think it was updated by Saturday night. On my league's site, it was updated Friday, relatively early in the day, once the official report was released. They haven not updated in earlier in the week like they used to because of the way the NFL is handling injuries this year.

Anyway, has anyone else had issues with this change? I think it's a pretty major one. I would imagine in most redraft leagues, it was invaluable to know by Wednesday who had a more serious injury and who was just probable. Waiting until Friday really affects your pick-up strategy, right? In my league, you can't IR someone until the official report comes out. I am going to try to figure out a way to change this, but it's going to be tough to monitor everyone and make sure no one is taking advantage.

They haven't updated in two weeks.

Exactly. Two issues: (a) The NFL's handling of injuries and (b) Fanball. Fanball offered a pretty good service in 2002 and 2003. But, after they sold out, they completely kicked their customers to the curb. It's a phenomenally bad service. No surprise at all to hear they haven't updated injuries for a couple of weeks.

Thumper, what browser are you using? With Mozilla, all injured players are updated. I was watching it all week because of Boldin (and Losman, my back-up ;) ). It looks fine in Safari as well -- I don't know if that's the issue.

I'm using Fanball for a league I run this year, and I have no complaints. The Live Scoring is accurate on stays updated, the site is easy to navigate/use, and they have plenty of options. Add that to the low price, I have no complaints. As far as the injury updates, I too have been getting accurate and timely updates, using Firefox instead of IE.

I just got off the phone with their "customer service" manager Tom.This guy is as ignorant as he is incompetent. He clearly did not want to speak to me from the moment he picked up the phone. He told me "There is nothing I can do for you" you have to submit an e-mail.When I told him they I had sent an e-mail and the league commissioner had already sent three e-mails (starting 10 days ago) he became even more upset. "Look there is nothing I can do for you but submit an e-mail on your behalf" is what this "supervisor" told me. If that isn't great customer service I don't know what is.In the end this is just fantasy football, but we are paying for this service + all we ask is that they handle the basics in a timely and professional manner. I think it is fair to say that we will be dropping Fanball at the end of this season. Can anyone suggest a more professional site?

Buckeye35:To answer your question I am also using Mozilla. They just updated a few minutes ago, but this should have been done much earlier in the week.

fanball has sucked from 04-06... but our commish keeps using them...

but this year they seem much better... haven't had any problems with accessing the page or with the live updates...

everything has been running smoothly

and the injuries were updated for us just fine... don't know what's going on with your league, but ours is fine

Can anyone suggest a more professional site?
The one with the most following on this site is MFL. RTSports has a pretty loyal base as well, but aren't as popular as MFL. CBS is very spendy and seem to get bashed on here a lot. Foxsports is horrible. I know there is one more big one that I am spacing out.ETA: you might want to bump this or start a new topic on Monday to get a few more/better responses.

This sort of response is insanely annoying. I'm pretty sure he wasn't asking you to tell him what their league rules should be. I've never used fanball, but myfantasyleague has been great. In fact, we switched over from fanstar mid-season a few years ago due to some completely unacceptable garbage on the part of Fanstar. MFL went so far as to prorate our fee.
