they started strong andf then had 3 stinkers in a row though that was against the chiefs, chargers, and seahwaks (hasselback was playing then)

they rebounded last week against the seahawks with seneca...

Here are the key matchups from here on out...

week 12 san fran at St. Louis

week 13 arizona at st louis

week 15 st louis at raiders (though if brooks is playing then this may not be a "slam dunk")

week 16- Redskins at St Louis

The Skins should be a good team to target as an opponent from here on out... with Campbell and betts they may not be very good...

The Rams are particularly good if you are an Eagles owner....

Philly...

week 12 at indy

weel 15 at giants

week 16 at dallas

The Rams defense has been bad this year. They didn't start off strong so much as they got lucky and recovered a bunch of fumbles. Are you interested in them more because you think these opponents are so weak any defense will be good against them, or because you like the Rams defense? And if it's the latter, why?

They might not be available (with a defense, who knows) but Miami's D has a nice playoff schedule.

At Buffalo and hosting the Jets, I think.

It depends on your scoring system. Early in the year they forced a lot of turnovers (just like in 1995); when the turnovers dried up they were exposed as a below-average unit. The Rams have given up yards by the bushel - especially on the ground - against everybody. There hasn't been anything to suggest that they will perform better against poorer teams; if anything, opponents seems to have season-best days against STL.

I'd steer clear - and I'm a Rams homer/season ticket holder. I just don't see anything apart from a random bolt from the blue that could help you.

week 15 and 16 they play two indoor teams, DET and MIN in Green Bay in Dec. If nothing else the scores could be low

weeks 13 and 14 they play NYJ and @SF.

I just posted this in the other defence FA thread (maybe they could be merged?)

Anyone else have any thoughts on the Bills? They're done with NE and have the IND matchup out of the way. They're 12th in my league in scoring right now and their schedule is very nice -- HOU this week, two decent matchups coming with JAX and NYJ and only one really bad matchup vs SD. Then in the playoffs, they have MIA and TEN at home (weeks 15/16).But they're not even among the top 20 defences in the Top 250 Forward. What am I missing?

Defenses in most leagues score pts on turnovers and TDs - not the easiest thing to predict. A defense can have a great game but not get any turnovrs or TDs. I have the Rams and was kicking around going with them over Jax this week so I'm with you.

I try not to expect anything out of my defenses.

I'm with you, trying to predict DEF's is just about impossble IMO (with exceptions to BAL and CHI). I've got PIT who is supposed to be this great DEF as ranked in 250 FWD but I think it's a waste of time. I've tried to play matchups via the rankings and everything has blown up in my face. Don't get me started on kickers. I'm going to stick with a high ranking DEF and roll the dice instead of playing the matchups each week and shooting blanks. Why waste the effort on something that cannot be predicted,,,yet,,,this year.

If your DEF's get points for Sacks or points allowed things become more predictable.

I am aiming for either BUF or NYJ to go with Eagles D.
