Fantasy League Fiasco! (1 Viewer)

10 man League of friends. CBS League.

We have an owner who made a 5 player trade with another owner. A few of the players were already traded with the other owner a few days back. We have no trade back time limit with another owner like a lot of leagues have (we have been trying to convince the commish we need one, says we have too many rules).

These 2 guys are very close friends and have rooms right next to each other at their work. In the 34 players traded in our league this year have made 26 are between these two.

This has been raising some eyebrows but last trade set seem to put it over the edge. Some owners think they are working together.

But here's the kicker!!

The vetoes made it to 6 on their last deal which means in our league the Commissioner must decide whether to veto it or not.

Well one of the owners in the trade has the Commish's code because the commish has asked him to be in charged if he is gone.

Well he goes in and overides the veto and approves the trade!!!!

He says it was an accident.

The commish then put the trade back in for a second vote. Only 5 guys vetoed it this time so the trade stands.

Well the owner has gotten blasted on the message board as to why he was even on the commish page. I don't think he wanted to put the trade through though because he knew he would be caught but I think he was trying to screw around with the votes on the veto somehow or was trying to do something and he screwed the whole thing up.

Commish is mad at us for blasting this owner. Said it was a mistake. We then questioned why did he put it through for a second vote when it was already voted on. A mess.

Any thoughts on this fiasco???

You have a spineless commissioner. Veto rules are stupid to begin with as 90% of vetoes are done out of spite because owners are jealous about the deal. That said, the commish should have never reposted the deal. He should have nixed it since the league said it was a bad deal and not reposted it. Fire the commissioner or find a new league - life is too short to put up with morons.

I agee about most veto rules with you. Giving owners a say in every trade and basing vetoing a trade on solely the fact of a majoity of a league votes it down is bad for a league. One football league I am in we have a 3 person "Trade Commission Committee" where if the majority of the league objects to a trade it goes to them on a fact finding mission and review. Owners are questioned WHY they voted it down and the commission then votes itself on the trade. This has helped our league a lot.

Collusion is the main reason any trade should ever be rejected.
