Excuse my ignorance but who is involved in these leagues? Who am I watching here?

Just curious -- ultimately I'll look over any draft - it's interesting no matter who is picking, to some extent.

All FBGs.
Cool -- been enjoying watching all the posters go in the Mock Drafts for the Suicide Leagues already -- I liek to watch FBGs go at it during drafts.Always gets interesting....

Cowboy Up here :goodposting:

Critique welcome. Not bad so far. Went with a sort of different WR-WR strategy and got buried under a landslide of RB's taken. I have almost always gone RB-RB and had to think hard about clicking that button. Young team, but not crazy young (you know what I mean) ... at least these guys are young and productive. Future is weak for year 1, but beyond that should be strong.

So far ...

QB -- Matt Leinart -- (great future)

RB -- Adrian Peterson -- (AD)

RB -- Julius Jones -- (still a chance)

RB -- Jamal Lewis -- (still some life)

WR -- Larry Fitzgerald -- (stud; great combo with Leinart)

WR -- Steve Smith-- (tough to beat this WR-WR combo)

TE -- Ben Watson (Moss and Stallworth should open up the middle)

I think you're doing pretty well. The WR's are sweet, obviously--you're set for life there. Your RB's are obviously weak, although given where you took JJ / JL, they seems like fair value. Cigar butt theory I guess. I probably would have gone TO over JJ though--I expect them each to last just a couple of years, and I have a better feeling about TO during those few years.Watson is probably an average TE1--neither a strength nor a weakness. My biggest worry is that with a team like that, it will be hard to ever become great--you're not going to stink it up and get a high draft pick, and without those it will be tough to ever fix your RB situation.

I'll try to comment on each team as a whole so far (won't get into bad picks and great steals)

Werewolves - Love Brady, LT, Chad and Heap, Turner for 2008 and as handcuff for LT in 2007, iffy on RB2, bye weeks at RB will be problem

Crenshaw - Very solid team, ??? at RB2, need to hope the rooks pan out quickly, nice WR trio

Unitas - Great QB, deep RB corps, but with a few ??, unspectatular WR's

Green Acres - Drafted very young, huge ??? at RB after Bush, could be a killer team for many yrs

Storm - Awesome QB, older but serviceable RB's, few short yrs left at WR, top TE

Skidmark - Good QB, 3 excellent RB options, mediocre WR's

Atomic - QB for future, risky RB's, nice sleeper WR's, fair mix of young/old

Cowboy - Team built for the future, if RB's can post decent #'s in 2007 could compete well, 2 great WR's

Indy - Fair QB, better for future, 2 sweet dynasty RB's, WR's built for winning now

Swamp - One of my fave teams, shouldn't decline for 2 yrs or so

America - 2 nice young RB's, truly love his WR's for many years to come

Charley - This team I am most torn about, can't decide if it's buily for 2007 or beyond

Atomic Theory here. I made a bunch of pre-draft moves to gain some extra picks in the 4th and 6th because after about the sixth or early seventh it seemed to me that the values drop off and stay fairly constant for the following three or four rounds.

I lost a second round pick in the process, but gained a couple extra icks in the top 6 rounds, and an extra first rounder for next year.

I might have stretched a little on Brandon Jacobs, but I'm pretty high on the kid. PLUS...I had several more picks coming soon after that one and felt I could afford to stretch there.

MY TEAM SO FAR:

Atomic Theory

Player, team, pos, bye, draft slot taken

Cutler, Jay DEN QB - 6 , 6.09, almost went Rivers here, but feel Cutler will have better #s, even if Rivers is the better NFL QB, at least for the next year or two.

Jackson, Brandon GBP RB - 7 , 6.01, stetch? maybe, but I bet he's starting as early as this season, and certainly by 08.

Westbrook, Brian PHI RB - 5 , 1.07, would be gold if RB's got ppr. still well worth this draft slot.

Williams, Carnell TBB RB - 10 , 4.05, a steal this late

Boldin, Anquan ARI WR - 8 , 3.08, Young...CHECK, STud...CHECK, top 5-8 potential....CHECK..late third?..STEAL!

Cotchery, Jerricho NYJ WR - 10 , 6.06...probably a year away from stud status, might well be a worthy WR2 this year!

Hackett, D.J. SEA WR - 8 , 8.01...well documented semi-sleeper in these forums. high bust potential, but strong upside.

Moss, Santana WAS WR - 4 , 4.09, strong WR2!

Crumpler, Alge ATL TE - 8 , 7.07, top 5 TE in the 7th? I'll take that any day, even if he's only got 2 or 3 good years left.

Next pick at 9.07, but I love my start.

2.10 22. JohnnyU Benson, Cedric CHI RB Sat May 5 7:17:31 p.m. ET 2007 Pick made based on Pre-Draft List

2.11 23. Crenshaw Gangbangers Lynch, Marshawn BUF RB Sat May 5 7:31:05 p.m. ET 2007

2.12 24. Werewolves of the Tundra Turner, Michael SDC RB Sat May 5 11:50:47 p.m. ET 2007

Hmm, JohnnyU was telling people a couple weeks ago they should be trading for Michael Turner while his value was still only top 15 RB. Then he takes Cedric Benson as the 18th RB off the board with Turner still available. :banned:  :lmao:

Just did a dynasty start up draft a couple months ago and from the 10 spot I also wound up with these 2 for my first 2 picks. Very pleased.

I believe I was pimping Benson before Turner, and besides, I'm not an idiot. As much as I like Turner, and I would have taken him in the 4th (I had 2 4th rd picks), I do play to win now and at the same time draft for the future. Take that l-m-a-o and smoke it.

Fantasy legends...lol I love some of these names
I'm fond of the name Swamp Donkeys. I just kept mine the same in every league, which is my FBG name. Makes it easier on me and my league mates.

I think you know which team is mine (team name forthcoming...or might just keep it simple). I've had a very up/down draft thus far:

1.09 9. Indyhavoc Addai, Joseph IND RB

2.04 16. Indyhavoc Parker, Willie PIT RB

3.02 26. Indyhavoc Holt, Torry STL WR

Loved my draft at this pt. Two young studs with above-average talent and fantastic situation/opportunity! Holt was the bottom of the tier and I really thought would be gone well before 3. Worked a deal with very little loss on my part.

4.04 40. Indyhavoc Jones, Thomas NYJ RB

5.09 57. Indyhavoc Owens, Terrell DAL WR

T. Jones is gonna flourish in NYJ with that O-line for 2-3 years. I really like what Mangini is building there, and love that the Pats are getting all the press. Will make the fall all the sweeter! This was a tough choice between Caddy and him; talent vs. opportunity/production over next 2-3 seasons. I don't have the patience to sit on Caddy as he struggles again this year, Gruden gets the hatchet, and the rebuilding begins. He's clearly a very talented guy.Hated these picks. If I was more patient I probably could have shopped the picks around.

T.O. is just tremendous value, but I'm generally a guy to shy away from basket-case/stress/problem-child guys. I don't like the hassle of having to plan around it.

6.11 71. Indyhavoc Rivers, Philip SDC QB

7.09 81. Indyhavoc Branch, Deion SEA WR

9.07 103. Indyhavoc Manning, Eli NYG QB

I loved getting Rivers here, but looking at what fell after 6.11 to 7.09, I wonder if I could have still had him a round later. Seems like we've got half the league who really wanted to settle their minds at QB, then the remaing 3 or 4 that are stubborn as hell about not drafting a QB with 4pt/TD, pt/25yd format.

The Branch pick is the direct result of having drafted T.O. I'd much rather have looked around for a rookie RB/WR with great talent/situation pairing here, or traded back. Branch is the flanker in what should be a rejuvinated passing game (everyone healthy again). I think the world of this guy, as watching him be absolutely un-coverable vs. the AFC in big games for years. People greatly underestimate both his talent, his work ethic, and how much the 'Hawks invtested in him.

Love the Manning pick (another small trade up). I get to play round-robin / play the hot hand with him and Rivers. Almost pulled the trigger on him a full 2 rounds earlier, but just had a feeling the stubborn streak of NOT drafting QB's (backups) would continue....it did!

I've got 2 more picks coming up quickly (part of the trade back from 8->10th to get Holt). I love these next 2 picks, tons of young options to help spruce up my crusty areas =).

Just finished round 11 of Legends III. Team Charley so far:

QB - Vick, Kitna, Leftwich

RB - MJD, DE.Williams, Tr. Henry, Mike Bell

WR - Evans, Reggie Brown, Matt Jones, Bennett

TE - V.Davis

D - NE Patriots

Wound up with 13 picks in 1st 11 rounds by trading down from 2.01 to 2.06 and swapping my 1st rounder for a 2nd rounder in 2008. Used these 2 trades to accomplish the following:

1. Moved up from 5.12 to 5.07 (to get VDavis)

2. Moved up from 7.12 to 6.10 (to get another top-70 pick)

3. Moved up from 13.12 to 9.06 (from swap of 2008 picks)

4. Moved up from 12.01 to 11.06 (as part of trade from 2.01 to 2.06)

RB - My overall strategy was to attempt to establish the foundation of my team for both now and in the future. I could have had Parker or RBrown with my (original) 2.01, but took DWilliams at 2.06 instead after trading down -- time will tell if that was a good move. THenry fell to me at 4.01, and I was grateful for that. I picked up Mike Bell later for both insurance and hopefully henry's successor (but who knows with Shanahan).

QB - Picked Kitna after Vick mainly because of the suspension threat (and the Vick/Kitna combo will give me formidable QB strength this season). Leftwich was available in the 10th, and I picked him up with one of my extra picks. I was surprised at how fast QBs went in this draft.

WR - Took Evans at 3.12 (AJohnson and RWilliams went in the previous 3 picks or I would have had one of them). RBrown fell to 6.01 which I thought was good value. Took Matt Jones and Bennett later. Not a great WR corps, but I think it should be serviceable (and I only plan to play 2 WRs each week as I've got 3 good RBs to cover the flex, assuming DWilliams pans out as expected).

TE - Glad to get VDavis at 5.07. He was my primary target at this position (I knew Gates would be gone by 3.12). Although Davis doesn't have a demonstrable track record so far, I love his potential and I'm willing to pay the market price to get him on my dynasty team.

D - Chicago went a round earlier as only D drafted so far. My next pick isn't until 14.01. I was planning to wait until later but was targeting either SD or NE as #2 and #3 D's after Chicago. I've got SD in another dynasty league, so I took NE here.
