Fargas (1 Viewer)

Fargas put up some really good numbers this last week AT KC. He's been getting the ball a lot, averaging about 23 carries per game in his last 4 games as a starter, and has went over the 100 yd mark twice. He's scored 2 TDs in those 4 games.

Now, he has a nice matchup vs DEN (4th worst RUN Def) this weekend.

Anyone feel confident in starting him yet?

I'm playing him over some pretty solid RBs this week named R. Bush and K. Jones.

Anyone else giving the rock in hopes he can get you into the playoffs? Or just because you think he's turned into a solid starter.

Confident? eh. But he is my only other healthy back at this point in this season of attrition so I am happy as hell to have him.

I wouldn't say I'm confident, but I'm not nervous. I too am opting for him over Bush. I think Kiffin is clearly devoted to his fellow Trojan.

Denver seems to have improved quite a bit on their run D since the bye. They've given up fewer pts/game to RBs since the bye. The Tenn. game is skewed due to Young's rush stats, but bottom line is they have improved. Thus, while it looks like a tempting matchup, Fargas may not be as productive as some would assume. My take is start him if he's your best available, but temper your expectations.

I'm starting him over MJD this weekend. In my league's scoring, he's put up 20+ twice and 9.5 twice the last four weeks and one of those 9.5s would have been 12.5 save for the fumble vs. Chicago. MJD may get goalline carries, but Fred is getting the bulk of the carries.

I've been starting Fargas for the last few weeks. My other RB's were AD, Ronnie Brown, Cadillac, Benson, and Fred Taylor. So yes I am happy to have him. It's amazing that Taylor and Fargas would end up being the most durable.

I have been starting him for weeks now. I am never confident, but he is a better option than Maroney, Rudi, or Chris Brown. He will get the start again for me this week. If Rudi shows anything he may get benched the following weeks.

I know you all do not care about my team, but I am trying to show where I percieve his value to be at this point compared to some other rbs.

I just set my line-up, started Fargas and Jamal Lewis over the likes of Kenny Watson, Willie Parker, Travis Henry and Maurice Morris.

This will probably change 10 times brfore Sunday... :moneybag:

I have no RB depth. Fargas has been my RB2 for the past month. It has worked out pretty well, and I will continue to ride him. He is an interesting story. Drafted by the Raiders in 2003. Was a backup in 03, 04, and 05 and saw very limited touches. Became the starter last year only due to Jordan's injury and finished with a modest yet respectable 178-659-1 and 3.7 ypc. Has really made the most of his opportunity this year. I'm drinking the kool aid this year. Who knows about next year with Michael Bush waiting in the wings.

I have Fargas, Gore, and AP. I will definitely start Gore. But I don't think I can play Fargas over AP this week.
Same dilema here. Addai in for sure. RB2 comes down to Fargas or Peterson. I think I'll swing for the fence with AD. So Fargas sees the pine.

Yeah. Who wants to lose and then admit they started Fargas over AP? :lmao:

Bumping to review Fargas as an RB2 going forward. He keeps exceeding expectations (well, my expectations at least). But his season ending schedule is not pretty.

@ GB

vs Indy

@ JAX

Would anybody feel comfortable starting him at RB2 in those matchups? Being caught in the DEN RB whirlpool like a lot of folks, Fargas could be a nice option to have.

I think you have to keep him in your lineup unless you have MUCH better options. He's getting the ball a lot (33 carries sunday), and he's producing well.

I will be starting him over R. Bush for the rest of the year. Bush is worthless in NON PPR leagues right now.

Unless LJ comes back or the Den RB situation settles into something reliable, I'd have to reluctantly agree. I'm dropping Chatman, as his schedule and team are worse, but that schedule scares me.

A bit encouraged on the 33 carries, didn't realize he had that many.

I will likely play him over Addai this week. I don't like Addai's matchup in BALT and think the Colts will pass just like this weekend. I HAVE ot have a win. I can't be getting two freaking points from my RB like Addai did to me this week.

I started SJax and Fargas over Bush, Taylor, Henry, and Gore, and I'm VERY happy about yesterday's performance, but it was a great matchup to say the least. The 33 carries was in large part due to the fact that they had a lead the entire game. I don't think I'm going out on a limb here to say they won't have a lead for as long (if at all) over their next 3 (@GB, Ind, @Jax).Ron Dayne is the matchup against Denver next week (31st worse run D), and I'd expect similar stats from him vs Denver.

I started Henry over him, which didn't hurt so bad, a 7 point deficit or so. I'd convinced myself that Denver's run D had improved, but apparently now. But every week in Denver, it's who's going to start, and then how long before they get hurt. Right now, at least Fargas is the guaranteed start.I don't have Dayne, or I would certainly consider it.

Fargas has looked his best hitting the hole fast. He doesn't waste much time getting to the line. There were some slow developing sweeps where he was caught before getting to the line. Overall, he's been a pleasure to watch.

He dropped a screen pass that he very well may have scored on. I'm not sure if that's the drive he ended up scoring on anyway, but it appeared he left fantasy points on the field.
