Anybody else finding that the story is dragging along and the episodes aren't advancing the story much?

I'm enjoying it. Not Season 1 or 2 worthy but not dogsh*t like Season 4. Probably on par with S3 but with a lot of potential upside.

I guess I'm in the minority. I preferred S4 to S3.

I really liked this episode. I'm warming up to Lorraine Lyon's character, still not feeling Jennifer Jason Leigh's affected voice she uses, but she had some great lines in this one.

I can't get past her ridiculous duck lips.

It was less noticable in Lasso because you weren't looking......

I keep thinking this is the episode that things take off but then I realize they are just laying more groundwork for the next episode. I did enjoy episode one or two or both of them but these last few have not hit the mark for me overall.

Guessing she realizes sitting back and hoping ex goes away isn't going to happen, so now she's going to go to go on the offensive.

As with most seasons there’s plenty of despicable people to choose from but that loser may be the worst and he’s not even a criminal.

For sure, but having to skip through the commercials is a pain. It ruined watching Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul live on AMC too.

Temple was eerily great with the voices, in particular with her interpretation of Hamm's raw meanness.

Doesn't seem like Munch really cares about money and more about your word/honor but the intention was definitely there to renege on the deal. Would be interesting if Munch was playing 4D chess and had a tracker in there but not sure someone 500 years old is familiar with such technology (definitely an ode to No Country For Old Men).

One thing the puppet show didn't explain is how Dorothy/Nadine got her fighting skills. She was a 15 year old runaway when Linda found her and brought her into Roy's house. So how did she turn into a John Wick/Rambo/etc "tiger" as Munch calls her?

I will say that the (potential) dream sequence advanced the story unlike many dream sequences - but it’s such a tired trope at times that I’m not certain it was a dream but figure it was.

I was trying to decide if her sitting at the table and getting pancake served brought up the memory of how she got to this point.
Or it was just a "dream" sequence she went into while looking at the smile.

linda left them behind because shes dead, not that she couldnt take them with her.

the utopia is an afterlife for battered women. she only arrives there when she runs out of gas. the "location" is found in a buried box. saints are only recognized as saints after they die. the point of the journey is that dot cannot get linda to help her.

she projected some fault onto linda because she was the only person who helped her. her previous "trip" to her sisters was to the hospital, and the last "trip" she took she never returned. dot blames the grooming on linda to some degree when in reality all of it was roy, including picking her up from the supermarket and this is how dot finally realizes it and forgives her because she, like all of the women, were puppets under the control of men.

Uh, you saw the part where Roy walks into her hospital room, right? I'd hardly call that being any more in control of her own story than at any previous point following her initial escape.
