Lee Evans.. a spot fill his first year(s), then becomes a semi-breakthrough, winning a few hearts and minds....

stud separation WR - Lee Evans

bad team - Bills

rookie QB (and sometimes scrub QB) - Losman (Holcomb)

sloth, but serviceable grinding RB with low carry avg - McGahee

tough division - AFC East

lotsa slop - Bills 5-11 record in '05

puts up 700/7 his second year - Lee Evans

stud separation WR - Braylon Edwards

bad team - Browns

rookie QB (and sometimes scrub) - Quinn (Frye)

sloth, but serviceable grinding RB with low carry avg - Jamal Lewis

tough division - AFC Northlon

lotsa slop - Brownies 4-12 record in '06

puts up 860/6 his second year - Braylon Edwards

I love grabbing this guy as a WR#3 when I'm already set at RB and QB with one stud WR, and Braylon and someone else as a flier. You can go Boldin/Hines/Braylon and remain geeked, or Wayne/Lee Evans/Braylon or LT[sJax]/Wayne/Boldin[Fitz]/then Braylon as your #3 in a flex format... as you bulk up on Brees/Bulger/Brady/Gates in the 4th, Marshawn/Duece/Caddy/AP flier RB#2 move in the 5th.... Hines/SMoss/Branch in the 6th.

I like Braylon for the upside. I'd rather have him as my #3 or amongst a few #2s to win the starting spot on my roster.... than sit there with DJax or LColes.... or be sitting there with a supposed "WR play" that is Randy Moss and TO....

Some leagues/drafts I've seen him drop a bit low. I would NOT reach for him, but man he's the clear #1 and a breakaway with some mad skills on a bad team. Grab one stud, and then pocket guys like this (see Galloway last year, and Lee Evans prior).

I'm with you on this one. Some guys thought I made a mistake by passing Deion Branch in favor of Edwards, but I like the kid this year. I just hope whoever's throwing the ball can get it to him. The Browns will be playing from behind a lot this year, so it wouldn't surprise me to see Edwards get a lot of 4th Quarter points this season. We'll see.

He's the prototypical breakout 3rd year WR. The offense won't allow him to post a monster year, but 1,000 yards and 8-9 TD's aren't out of the question. Tier 2B production. I've got him as my 2B along with Galloway to go with my stud S. Smith. Hope it pans out.

I'm in on the Braylon Train. He's got all the tools to be a stud, plus Cleveland should be playing from behiind a lot. I also passed on guys like Deion Branch, Galloway, DJax, etc to get him.

For some reason this gave me flashbacks to when we were comparing Quincy Morgan to Plaxico Burress and many were predicting the breakout from Morgan, including me

Thanks for the memories. :moneybag: I also thought Quincy could be good.I've been on this train since his days at Michigan, but I don't see more than 1,000/8 with these QBs. Losman, even last year, was better than Frye/Anderson, and Quinn won't be good for another year or two.Still, a good #3 and a good dynasty play.

How is the situation different this season from last season for Braylon Edwards? His knee should be healthier and that may be enough for him to take that next step to 1000-yard receiver.

The team seems the same from last season. They did upgrade the line (though Bentley was put on PUP). We'll see if it works out. The QB's are still awful. It's tough to figure out who the #1 receiving option is on Cleveland. Braylon Edwards had more targets than KW2 but they were nearly identical (122 to 119).

He seems talented enough but he's on a bad offense. I wouldn't reach for him personally.

One more year of experience, an additional year for his knee to heal (which is huge since he was missing some speed) and a much upgraded line. Cleveland will be behind and throwing in the 2nd half of nearly every game due to their horrible defense. I love both he and Winslow this year.

I like Edwards for solid WR2 numbers at WR3 or 4 ADP.

I got him late in one of my drafts and some scoffed...I agree with the 1000+ and 8-10 TD's.

I got Braylon Edwards REAL late in my draft. I've got to think others just forgot about him or didn't see that he was still sitting there. I really like my WR corps because of Edwards:

3.07 - T.J. Houshmandzadeh

4.06 - Javon Walker

5.07 - Lee Evans

10.06 - Braylon Edwards (WR40 drafted)

No offense, but this nothing alike. I majorly avoided Quincy (and all Browns at that time). If you recall, it was a random carousel in the making... Quincy Morgan, Andres Davis, Dennis Northcutt, Antonio Bryant... and I'm sure I'm forgetting another one.I'm not comparing, nor predicting bold numbers... I'm proclaiming that this recipe is set up for success.... the cook can still burn it in the oven, or it can drop on the floor.... it's got the right conditions.

Yeah, he hung out there a bit. Might be one of those... look back at good value in the draft picks.

i'm really not sure Braylon is ever going to be an elite reciever.

he just doesn't seem to come up with the big catches.

I took Braylon as my WR3 and am pumped about him this year too. Frye will be the QB again but Braylon will be in year 2 of his ACL injury and should be about 100% now. I think this is the year he breaksout. Good luck to everyone who's gotten him.

Apparently you did too since you passed on him in the 7th, 8th, 9th.......Then again, with Lee Evans making it to late 5th, not too surprised at all to see those results.

I didn't forget about him at all. And, I didn't really pass on him in those rounds. He wasn't really an option in my mind in those rounds. I'm in a start 2, 2, and 1 Flex league. My plan was to load up on RB's, and only carry one extra WR. So, I was pretty much done with WR's after I selected Evans.Since I went WR-WR-WR in Rounds 3-5, I needed, at the very least, to get an RB or two in two of the next three rounds and get a QB. I ended up going RB (my RB3)-RB (my RB4)-QB (my QB1) in rounds 6-8. In the 7th Round, I noticed (to my horror) that Walker and Evans had the same bye week. Thus, I needed another WR. I rolled the dice that Edwards would make it back to me in Round 10 (considering he was sitting all alone in his 8 WR tier), and grabbed my RB5 in Round 9. I quickly grabbed Edwards in Round 10.And, Evans didn't make it to the late 5th. He made it to mid-5th. He was the 18th WR off the board. That's late, but not insanely late considering how few WR's had been selected to that point. I was extremely pleased to get him in the 5th (I was planning on grabbing an RB there, but took Evans).
