As long as he can generate 25-30 TDs wherever he goes that is.This is going to be AWESOME.
The Packers don't have that option. If Favre wants to play they can activate him or release him. Favre already realizes the Packers don't want him back, so he's just asking for his release. So, is it time to bump up Berrian and Sidney Rice in the projections?Packers should simply tell him "No".A million dollars says he is eyeballing an NFC North team.
At least the stigma of small hands won't haunt him like Alex Smithrogers is so set up to fail
I would love to see them stand their ground and refuse to release him. But they will cower to the almighty one.Packers should simply tell him "No".
Charles?rogers is so set up to fail
Sure they do. They have his rights for this year. The Packers don't have that option. If Favre wants to play they can activate him or release him. Correct. Just have him sit on the bench as a backup if he insists on coming back. Tell him the only way he plays elsewhere is if he and his agent are able to work out a deal with another team that the Packers find agreeable. That way at least the Packers control where he goes. If he doesn't like being a backup in GB or playing somewhere that is agreeable to the Packers, then he can stay retired. That's what the Pack wants anyway. If they bring him back to start for them again this year who is to say they won't be in the same place again at this time next year. It's time to put an end to the games and move on with the Aaron Rodgers era.Packers should simply tell him "No".
They do, but then they get to pay his salary...The Packers don't have that option. If Favre wants to play they can activate him or release him. Brett could make their lives miserable too.Just release him (pehaps the Packers get Brett to agree to go outside of the NFC North)I would love to see them stand their ground and refuse to release him. But they will cower to the almighty one.Packers should simply tell him "No".![]()
This has already been discussed on NFL total access. The Packers can activate Favre, trade him, or release him. Those are their three options. They could activate him and sit him on the bench, but $12 million dollar bench warmer is way too expensive.Sure they do. I sure hope so. He's a lock for 25+ TD's with the Packers. Let's take a look at the MINN. schedule however. Come week 14-16 (playoff time, Favre at Detroit, at Arizona, home vs Atl). OK Minnesota it is!!!!!I would love to see them stand their ground and refuse to release him. But they will cower to the almighty one.Packers should simply tell him "No".![]()

I would love it if they activated him... as third string behind Rodgers and Brohm. Maybe they could bring him in at the end of a blowout to get a snap or two.Correct. oh that would be awesome, yea do that.Correct. Just have him sit on the bench as a backup if he insists on coming back. Rodgers can't handle that kind of pressure. He will fold via injury or pressure and the great Brett FARVRAH will take over!!!!Correct. Just have him sit on the bench as a backup if he insists on coming back. The Packers would activate him, pay his salary, and put him on the bench before allowing Minnesota or Chicago to get him.So, is it time to bump up Berrian and Sidney Rice in the projections?
Not really. Not when its Brett freakin' Favre. This has already been discussed on NFL total access. The Packers can activate Favre, trade him, or release him. I don't think he did publicly, if at all.Im trying to remember if Barry Sanders asked for his release or not.
Where would he WANT to go that would find the interest mutual? There are only a couple of teams in my eyes (Baltimore & Minnesota) that make any sense at all.
Before they do that, would they activate him, pay his salary, and start him?The Packers would activate him, pay his salary, and put him on the bench before allowing Minnesota or Chicago to get him.So, is it time to bump up Berrian and Sidney Rice in the projections?

It will be at 200 in about a half hour.Over/Under on this thread is at 200+ posts...about 4-5 pages...anyone want the over?
I think the odds of Favre playing in the division are zero. No way Thompson allows that.No way do the Packers release him. Trading him is a possibility but Thompson would be absolutely crushed in GB if Favre ends up with the Vikings or Bears and he beats them in the playoffs. Thompson just can't take that chance and with Favre's ego I guarantee the first call he makes is to Minnesota and the 2nd too Chicago. He's going to want to do whatever he can to stick it to Thompson and beating him in a Viking/Bears uni is the best way to go about it.
Hey, the 4th option is they could bring him back and let him start. Which is apparently not the plan, they must've told him they are moving forward. But if they are, and they don't want Favre back, they will eventually have to cut him. Unless they want to follow plan 1 above, which isn't a viable option. Every time Rodgers throws an incompletion, the fans will be on them. Here it is in a nutshell...1. Green Bay could bring him back, make him the QB3...tell him they won't activate him for any of the games, still pay him, and let him rot. Will they do this? Probably not but they sure could.2. Favre and his agent know they have 3-5 teams that would sign him instantly. Why Chicago keeps coming up...Favre has no interest there. He wants to be on a contender...Minnesota which has the best offensive weapon in ADP and the best defensive player in Jared Allen is a premium place for him and they desperately need some stability at WR. Baltimore...OK but they still need some work and their OL is suspect...Favre could have a lot of time to find Rice and Berrian in Minnesota. The Bucs would be on short list too...would spell the end of the Jeff Garcia and his 13 TD era in Tampa Bay...but he wouldn't have as many weapons.3. Pack trade Favre...but I doubt that happens. No team will trade real draft picks for him at this point in his career.
No. The team is moving on - as per Favres own decisions and indecision's.Before they do that, would they activate him, pay his salary, and start him?The Packers would activate him, pay his salary, and put him on the bench before allowing Minnesota or Chicago to get him.So, is it time to bump up Berrian and Sidney Rice in the projections?
Maybe Favre and Thompson are in it together to railroad Rodgers and send him off to his death in Chicago for a 2009 #1 pick. All of the talk about Favre not liking Thompson makes me wonder if his retirement was a plan to do just what he is doing now.
