Favre still wants more time (1 Viewer)

Favre's entitled to take as long as he wants...

And the Packers are entitled to move on without him or not...

Both sides have options here, the problem is the Packers have played their hand early and made it readily apparent to everyone that they want/need him back for 2006.

I agree. I am as sick as anyone of hearing all the Brett Favre may or may not retire talk. But this isn't about us, this is his life and the sport he loves. It is between him and his team. That being said, until I see him at a table saying goodbye I am not paying much attention to Favre news.

Now, if there is no CBA and the pack have to cut him, THAT would be interesting! Doubt it would happen, but man would that rock the boat.

The Packers are like $20 million under the cap. They won't have to cut anybody they don't want to. In fact...they are one of the teams that will benefit the most as they have money to spend and it will be a larger than normal FA pool.

Good info! I saw him on a list somewhere, may not have been acurate.

Agreed. Ted Thomspon really is stuck here. If he doesn't pay the bonus, he's known as the GM who let Favre get away, especially if Favre plays somehwere else and leads them to big things. And Favre is dropping all the hints that he doesn't want to play in Green Bay anymore. If he does pay it, how improved will this team really be anyway? Favre comes back, and I still don't see Green Bay being that much better? So why put Favre through it and why not save the cash?
