Mark Rosen of WCCO-TV in Minneapolis said on KFAN Radio today that he has several high-up sources at Green Bay saying Favre will retire as soon as today. Don't shoot the messenger.

It would be one thing if it were Sid Hartman or Patrick Reusse, but if it's Rosen then it may have legs.

What a crappy thing to do if he does.

There's been some talk here too (radio) they've been speculating, considering what Farve said at the press conference.

How many times are we going to go through this - who knows, this may be the time - but if it does, I couldn't think of a worse way for Favre to leave the game.

Man, this would be a huge tarnish to his legacy, leaving his team in the lurch after one bad game. Doesn't sound very Favre-like (well, at least until recently)

so not only have we had to put up with this every offseason, now we have to deal with speculation on his retirement after every game?

Frankly he should have retired in March.

That aside this is worse than Ricky Williams retiring on the eve of training camp.

Im liking my driver, Green, and Jennings picks alot more as they are all likely to improve. Favre is washed up

Favre holds a press conference and states that the past year he has been popping 50 Pain killers a day and drinks Milwaukee's Best to wash em' down. He will now be forced to retire because his addiction for pills is far more severe than his addiction for the game he was raised to love. That would be FAR worse.

Bunch of Crap IMO.

This is definately his last year, without a doubt...

But New Orleans is next week and that should cure a few ailments, Saints D is NOT the Bears D.

I hope peolpe realize that it's the media that's been doing all the speculating. Favre isn't driving the media frenzy. He gets punished for what everyone else is thinking and forming an opinion on. Then people like to blame him for it.

Cough B.S. Cough.

Farve would not go out like a wuss.

He plays this season then calls it a career.

It's weird.. But I think a lot of the Packer Faithful are jumping off his band wagon.

I was at my In-laws yesterday. Both my Father inlaw and my brother Inlaw are Huge Packer fans and love to remind me of all their championships compared to my Queens. :football:

Both repeated more than once during yesterdays game. "He shouldn't have come back, he is tarnishing his own image."

They also continued to remark that The Packers need to decide now.

Not tomorrow, next week, or next month, if Rodgers is the QB of the future or if they need to rebuild in a different direction.

As long as Favre sticks around The Packers will be stuck in a constant state of

i don't think he's helped matters a few times, but i agree. a lot of it is media and i'm sick of it.(but yet i can't help but look at threads like these.)

I tend to agree. Yes, the game had do have been a major disappointment to all of GB. But it could have been a lot worse. Only three sacks, against a Bears team expected to make a SB run. And who could have expected the Bears to put up 16 points in the first half (as sad as that statement is)? Admittedly, I didn't hear Favre's comments after the game - I was too busy celebrating the total destruction of the Packers!!

Fla\/\/ed is late to this thread.

While we're waiting for him though, I think that this year's lousy Packers team is simply a ploy to motivate Brett Favre . . . to retire.

Farve has pulled this crap the last three seasons! He should have retired after last year.

Is this "speculation" going to happen after ever Favre game? If he shellacks NO is there going to be a thread entitled "Favre has three more years in the tank?"

Guys, I agree with the poster that said Favre would not would like a wuss. I mean, think about it.
It's true. He would go out like a man by holding press conference after press conference saying nothing and leaving his team hanging before submitting the matter for a vote to his wife and daughter. Just like John Wayne would do it. :football:
