Green Bay - Coach Mike McCarthy said Friday that the elbow and shoulder injuries sustained by quarterback Brett Favre in Thursday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys are not serious and that Favre will start against Oakland on Dec. 9.

The injury to Favre's right throwing elbow was a bruise. He lost feeling in his right hand because of the injury. Favre began to regain feeling on Friday.

"We see him playing against Oakland," McCarthy said. "To quote the medical staff: 'His (consecutive starts) streak is not in danger."

The separated shoulder was just an aggravation of an old injury and is the lesser of the two injuries.

In other news, McCarthy indicated that offensive line group that finished the Cowboys' game, including Junius Coston at right guard and Jason Spitz at left guard, would be the new first-team group. Daryn Colledge was benched in the second quarter.
