FBG "average projections" (1 Viewer)

In the forecast area, we get David Dodds' projections.

But on each individual player's page, we get FIVE different projections from Dodds, Smith, Henry, Wood and Tremblay.

Is there any way we could get an "Average Projection" page similar to the Expert Rankings pages?

The columns could be the player's name follow by 5 columns of each expert's total fp for that player, then the average projected fp's.

I would LOVE this kind of feature.

I'll second that; a good idea. Maybe the median too, or the average without the two extremes (highest and lowest projections).

i think you can do that in the projections dominator app
I only see an .exe file to download for the projection dominator app so I assumeit's for PC only. If that's true (is it?) then I can't run it since I use Mac.A web page version of what I suggest is Platform Agnostic.

Draft Dominator has only Dodds projections. Projections Dominator has Dodds, Henry, Smith, Tremblay and Wood for QB, RB, TE and WR, Dodds and Smith for Team D and Dodds, Smith and Herman for Place Kickers. It allows you to apply your own weights to the various expert projections.I've been doing an analysis of last years projections to actuals (here) and I'm not finding a statistical difference in the overall expert projections.

To runDD and PD on a Mac, you need VirtualPC. Here is a link with more details: Mac VirtualPC Thread

The VBD Spreadsheet App works on a Mac if you have MS Excel.

Good luck.

Isn't there a way to export the PD averages into DD? I could swear that's what I did last year.
Yes, there is. You import your DD file into PD and then tweak the percentages of the experts and then import the file back into DD. When you update to the new version of DD on Fridays, you get to do it all over again for each league.

Thanks for the pointers. I'll look into Virtual PC but I'd much rather a web page whipped up by the smart dudes at FBG :lmao: Then I can view the info from any computer with a browser as opposed to being on that one specific computer at home.

As for your analysis of last year's projections to actuals, I've been keeping up with those threads (and enjoying them!)

but I wonder if you've also compared their *average* ranking to actual end of year stats. i.e. is the average of 5 smart

FBGs a better predictor than any 1 of their projections. Thoughts?

Another good suggestion. My gut feel is that the averages minimize the major misses - and every expert has them. The cool part of this exercise is that you can visually see how badly they miss or how well they do with quantifiable data.I've just need to finish up Team "D's" tonight and modify PK's and then I can do some additional analysis. My plan at the end of the entire exercise is to look at top 200 and top 400 by PPG. That would be a great time to pool the experts and compare the results.

Please add in any other suggestions.

BTW, Here's one other "home" computer based suggestion for the Mac.
