Faust

MVP
1.01 St. Louis Rams select QB Sam Bradford (83% of the vote)

1.02 Detriot Lions select DT Ndamukong Suh (59% of the vote)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Positions of Need:

DL, CB, S, OL

Needs Analysis: The Bucs started a drastic rebuilding project last year under rookie coach Raheem Morris, which very much continues. Tampa Bay traded for wide receiver Reggie Brown and picked up safety Sean Jones to compete with Sabby Piscitelli, but there haven't been any other real personnel moves. There is some speculation that there are money issues in Tampa, and it may motivate the club to move down in the first round, which would also help get more picks. Right now, with four picks in the top 67, they need to get a defensive tackle in the mold of Warren Sapp, a defensive end in the mold of Simeon Rice, and a young corner to eventually replace Ronde Barber.

I voted McCoy, but could also see a trade with the Browns (my idea) for Shaun Rogers if Bradford is there.

McCoy has one of the top draft grades and it would be very tempting for the Bucs to select him; however, if a team wants to move into this spot, then the Bucs will listen to offers.

The Bucs have made it very clear that they love both DTs. I think this is exactly how a team that wants to move down should play it. Who has the ammo and desire to move up for one of these guys? Seattle?Al Davis doesn't mind moving to get his guy, and he's been wanting a stud DT for a long time (since Grady Jackson or Russel Maryland?). I also think Al would have his eye on Demarius Thomas or Patrick Robinson early in the 2nd round and may not want to part with that 2nd pick. He doesn't have a 2011 1st. Many 3-4 defenses picking early that probably wouldn't rate him as high as a 4-3 team. I think unless Seattle wants him bad enough to move up (and maybe miss on one the OTs that they so badly need), I don't see a dance partner.

I picked McCoy, I almost went with Berry here, mainly because of the leadership that he brings and how he would be a great player to rebuild a franchise around. However, the need at DT it to great and the trade in the offseason for Jones shows me they probably will not go with S right here.

With the 1.03 pick in the 2010 FBG Consensus draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select DT Gerald McCoy
