FBG Daily email? (1 Viewer)

I thought in the last weekly email (right before the draft), they said they were going to start up the daily emails the Monday after the draft (last week). I have not received anything yet, does anyone know if they have started the daily emails yet, or if not, when they will start? Thanks! I am going through fantasy football withdrawal here. Just want to make sure I don't need to re-subscribe to the email list.

They've started.
Thanks. Did you have to sign up for the list again? I received all of the emails last year, and the weekly ones up until the draft. I also bought a 3 year subscription last year if that matters at all. I guess I will sign up again but am surprised that my email didn't automatically remain on their list.

Your not the only one....I have signed up again and still have not received an email from FBGs. I have been sign up with them for 2 or 3 years and never had a problem until this year.

I have been getting mine just fine. Maybe your ISP's spam blocker is kicking it?

I use Yahoo mail and have never been a problem before

I use Yahoo mail as well -- I have had a problem with one other site before where I just stopped receiving their emails (yahoo did not even put the emails in my spam folder -- they just never showed up at all) because yahoo decided all email coming from the site was spam (even though it was legit). It looks like that might be the case here. If you add their email to your address book (bryant@footballguys.com) that might solve the problem. I'm trying that today and we'll see if it works tomorrow. If Yahoo really did block yet another legit site's emails on me I'm going to be pissed and switch everything else I have over to gmail. Also, if that is the case someone from Footballguys will need to contact yahoo to get their site off of their spam list.

I just tried twice to send an email to overton@gmail.com and both times it bounced back with a failure notice.

Anyone else have that problem?

I can't even send an email to tell someone that I'm not getting email :football:

Does anyone know what the email address the daily emails are coming from? Did it change from last year? I will try emailing overton@footballguys.com too. I am pretty sure that somehow the daily email got caught up in Yahoo's spam filters and is just magically vanishing before hitting any yahoo mailbox (not even going to the spam folder). I filed a complaint with Yahoo, but is anyone with FBG working with Yahoo to let their emails go through again? I'd imagine there are at least a few thousand subscribers who have yahoo who may or may not realize they aren't receiving these emails.

Joe Bryant <bryant@footballguys.com> I told ya after the first post it was yahoo's spam filter. :goodposting:

Hey guys -- a few things:

It looks like the only mail ISP that we're having issues with right now is Yahoo. We're not on their blacklist because our emails to you guys are being successfully delivered all they way to the Yahoo mail servers in 90% of cases. Occasionally (say 10% of the time) the Yahoo mail server will reply back that the mail server is too busy to accept the message. Normally, those messages are delivered on the first retry a few hours later.

But what happens to the messages forward of Yahoo's mail server we don't have any way to know. I would expect that they are flagging them as spam and deleting them before they show up in people's mailboxes. I've contacted Yahoo three times about this so far this season trying to get an answer but I've gotten form letters in response, usually about a week later. I've also filled out their bulk mailer form, added SPF records to our DNS servers, and done everything else I have been requested to do.

Here's what I would advise Yahoo folks who are not receiving the Daily Updates to do:

1.) Check your Bulk Mail folder for our Updates. If you do find some issues in there, you can train the spam filter to not block our messages in the future by marking them as "Not Spam". I expect that this problem originates from people who just click the "Spam" button next to our Updates rather than just unsubscribing from the list. Having some folks marking the mails as "Not Spam" should balance this out.

2.) Make sure that Yahoo SpamGuard is set to send suspected spam to the Bulk Email folder rather than delete it entirely. That way you can at least find the missing updates in the bulk mail folder. Here's how to find your Bulk Mail folder and change your SpamGuard settings:

http://help.yahoo.com/us/tutorials/mail/mail/spamguard1.html

3.) If you can't find our updates in the Bulk Mail folder, Footballguys might be on your Blocked List. If there are any addresses that end with @ footballguys.com or @ broadcast.footballguys.com on your Blocked List, that would cause the updates to be deleted entirely from your Yahoo account without any sort of notification. If you remove our addresses from your Blocked List, you should begin to receive the updates again. Here's how to access your Blocked List:

http://help.yahoo.com/us/tutorials/mail/mail/otherspam3.html

4.) Add Joe Bryant (
http://www.exactgraphix.com/MIG/yahoo.php

5.) Set up a couple of mail filters to tell Yahoo mail to deliver any messages from Footballguys to your inbox folder. Here are the instructions on how to set that up -- instead of entering "@about.com" as the example shows, though, enter one filter for "@footballguys.com" and a second one for "@broadcast.footballguys.com":

In the meantime, if any of you guys can find a contact address or form for Yahoo mail help, please let me know. I would like to post the link or the contact info here so you guys can call or email and give their support a piece of your mind. That will be the most effective way to get them to change their policies since you guys are their customers and they have to listen to you. I've been searching for a link or email address for about half an hour now and it appears that they just don't want it to be found. They do, however, have a link prominently displayed where you can pay them to give you prioritized end-user support. :lmao:

If you use yahoo email, do the following:

Go to "options" at the top right, click it;

Then go to "spam protection", click it;

Then if you look and see the 2nd part down, where it says "mark spam + not spam", go to the part under it where it says "When I mark a message in the Bulk folder as Not Spam", and check the box underneath.

Check the bulk folder for the email next time it is sent, and next time you see it in the bulk folder, simply click the "Not Spam" button, and from that point forward, the email should appear in your inbox. This seems to be the simplest way to fix the problem.
