I'd like to know how close I was to making the cover this year. Any closer than last year?

TIA

It was between you, Chase and Willie Parker but last minute text messaging gave Willie the nod. We were expecting more from your version of This is My Now...

I really thought this mag was heads and shoulders above most last season. I hope you all didn't tweak it too much. This is not what I want to see people holding in their hands walking into my redrafts. :goodposting:

Just great. I have Willie Parker in a majority of my leagues and you guys just had to put him on the cover. The FBG's jinx is alive and well.

Hi Slinger,Jinx? Are you kidding me? Tiki Barber in 05 and Reggie Bush last year. The cover of FBG's mag is the anti Sports Illustrated...We had Vince Young offer us a ton of money to be on the cover as he was hoping to offset the Madden thing but Fast Willie outbid him... :thumbdown:J

Joe/David - are we waiting for info on how to get the mag sent (at a discounted price of course) too?
Hi Capn,Yes, we're working on that. Postage rates keep rising and that's a killer but we will definitely have them ready to send by ordering on our website as we did last year. Thanks for purchasing. :thumbdown:J

I was hoping for a Carson Palmer cover. The only Bengal not is jail this year. Quit an accomplishment.

Joe/David,

How about giving a pitch as to why a subscriber would want to purchase this magazinez? Other than the Willie Parker interview is there any exclusive material that I won't get online? I realize this is a tool to build the subscriber based, but sell me on why I need this.

thanks...Bass

I stand corrected. FBG's = anti-Madden Football :goodposting:

I can't speak for them, but I enjoy having a good FF magazine(s) for the entertainment value of when I want to read away from the computer. FF magazines start becoming outdated pretty quickly, but if it's a good read and a good point of reference I'm all for it.

Why buy: great reading material over the summer, a reference source for the whole year, best fantasy football mag out there, and #1 to support Footballguys. :goodposting:

Can't wait to get mine.

I probably won't do a good job of selling this, but here goes:People that buy our magazine from us get these things:- BEJ Decal (and ability to enter our stick the decal on something cool photo contest where we will award $1,000 in prizes for the best pics)- Two (2) BEJ temporary tattoos- A sheet of values ($3 off full-price subscription, money off for league management companies, redemption coupon to get all of the training camp reports for free, etc. Last year this sheet was valued at $50+- A chance to win a Golden Ticket (12 people). These tickets get a lifetime subscription and a chance to compete against 11 others to win $1,000.- A chance to win a Silver Ticket (30 people). These are good for a free subscription (will add years if you have already bought one).- In addition, a lot of the content we are releasing now won't show up on the website until mid July/early August (updated versions to the website). This includes popular features like Value Plays, Perfect Draft, Rookie Reviews, Strength of Schedule, Coaching Carousel, etc.- A few features will only show up in the magazine: Willie Parker interview, Offseason Random Shots, Preseason Watch List- and lastly, magazines are cool to read while traveling, using the restroom, sun-tanning, etc. We think our magazine is the best in the marketplace, but it's still only 228 pages. That will never be better than the subscription (30,000 pages of content plus the apps, etc). For some the subscription alone satisfies the hunger. For others, getting an early look at these articles (and condensed writeups) helps immensely.

Thanks David.

Is it that time of year again already?

Tiki, Reggie, and now Fast Willie. I'm sensing a little east coast bias. Dodds, you're failing us west coasters.

Looking fwd to the pre-order!

Is there any possibility of a magazine discount to FBG subscribers who have already subscribed to the website for the upcoming season?

i normally tab a magazine.Sitting on "my throne" with a laptop is uncomfortable. My computer doesn't fold into my back pocket.Carrying fantasyfootball printouts is waaaaaay more dorky, than breaking out a beat up mag.An outdated footballguys.com mag is better than most updated material on the internet. Real story: Rookie owner used footballguys dated cheatsheet(given by me). He wasn't prepared for the draft and I'm a nice guy. Started 7-0, finished the regular season in 1st place.

How about a magazine and T-shirt option? That would be a nice package.

T-shirts = free advertising too.

The only problem I see with the $1,000 prize pool league is, if LHUCKS gets a Golden Ticket, there's really no point in playing. Maybe it's not too late to print "You're a Winner ** except LHUCKS" on the tickets.

I will also add: even though it seems stupid, I am much better at keeping magazines than I am at keeping online content. I've got a stack of fantasy magazines in my closet going back to the 1990s. Sometimes it's fun to look through the older stuff. And there's no way I could keep a bunch of online content that long (even though it should be easier; for me personally it isn't).So the magazine, at least for me, is kind of a collector's item that I can access years later, after this season's Draft Dominator data has long been erased.

Were there any thoughts about doing regional covers? In the future maybe?

Agree 100%, I have FF mags going back for years.

I also agree but somewhere this --> :goodposting: needs to be in the post. Nothing pulling out and old rag trying to figure out why I drafted Kordell so high.

In this day and age where you can read practically anything on the internet, it's still nice to have magazines/books to read.

Jinx? Are you kidding me? Tiki Barber in 05 and Reggie Bush last year.
:wall: Admit I didn't buy last year, but I don't generally buy mags anymore.....and I do remember getting a glimpse of it and looked very good. Who knows maybe I'll break down this year; it's hard to use a laptop on the john.
