FBG Mock Draft '25 - 32 GMs - 1.19 Derrick Harmon DT, Oregon (7 Viewers)

1.07 - New York Jets - Armand Membou - RT

Jets’ glaring need meets available physical freak. Membou, at 6’4”, 330+ has a 9.90 RAS, which puts him 16th out of 1501 OL since ‘87, and solidifies gaping hole at RT.

Arm length of 33.5” and 4.91 forty cement physical adequacy at premium position. According to the Athletic, “If Membou does fall to No. 7, it would be tough to pass on him.”

Unselected possibility Tyler Warren, often mocked to Jets, plays non-premium, slow-learning position and is not Brock Bowers, so Jets pass and go OL. Jaxson Dart playing in non-pro style offense and Justin Fields’ signing causes just enough pause to pass on QB. Jets would have taken Shedeur Sanders in first as too-good-to-pass-up at seven, but Raiders took care of that.
Membou was the guy I wanted for SF but not willing to pay the chart price to move up.

Hoping Jeanty falls to 11 now. Such an important part of the SF offense and CMC is getting up there.

Not sure the chart’s value (a third-round pick) moves the needle enough for me to move back to 11
, so it’s too rich for you and not enough from my perspective. Funny and typical, no?

I would have thought about it for a second round-pick, whereupon I would have hoped Warren fell a few spots. I just wrote a long thing about Jeanty but deleted it so that things run their natural course.
Agree with bolded and giving up pick 43 is just too steep IMO especially since SF has a lot of holes to fill and have a couple draft crushes in that range. Just one of those situations where it wasn't feasible for either team.

QBs Jaxson Dart and Jalen Milroe
-It won't shock me to see these guys go somewhere in the 1st when the actual Draft hits end of this month.
Will that happen in this mock draft? I'm not sure but hare's a couple players with differing outlooks depending on who is discussing them.

If either is available at 1.30 (Bills pick), we’ll be willing to drop a bit.
Just spitballing here, a deal with the giants involving Thibodeaux and pick 34 could make sense.

With the 6th pick the Las Vegas Raiders select SHADEUR SANDERS.

Years of living in the QB wasteland drives this pick. His connection with Brady doesn’t hurt and the raiders get a QB in waiting on a rookie deal. With old man Carrol there’s some hope of containing the circus that will come with him.

68 minutes after this pick:
Sources: The #Raiders and QB Geno Smith have agreed to terms on a new deal to better compensate him for his play after the blockbuster trade. Smith gets a 2-year extension in a deal done by
@ChafieFields of @Wasserman. Las Vegas locks in its QB.

If LV likes Membou, maybe they could do a post-draft trade with NYJ

Thanks, ZWK, and I was thinking that, but I’d rather keep it simple and keep it with a more plausible scenario. I also think DA RAIDERS made it a group project and that is how the group chose. And there’s no need. It’s just an exercise that doesn’t determine anything real.

I think the Jets are only giving up draft capital to move up the one spot if they love Sanders, and I’ve heard nothing about them scouting or having him in for a visit or anything even remotely close to that. Bupkis.

That could be wrong, and I think if Sanders falls they’ll be awfully tempted, but in the end I think he’s selected already and actually think it’s 60/40 between Warren/Membou and that they will take Warren and that the selection is a mistake.

So I intervened and played God just a bit.

It's said a lot but I'll say it again - it's not a "blockbuster" trade if it's for a 3rd rounder. Why does everything have to be constant hyperbole?

He said to nobody specifically...

I don't think it takes them off the market for a QB if Sanders is there at No 6
2 years added to this year, it's not a huge extension and I would assume they can get out of it pretty easily
$31M was scheduled for this year, don't know the number on the 2 yr extension, maybe he was simply given a big chunk in a bonus and then 2 yrs added, some guarantee but nothing to set the Raiders back far is my guess. I see Carroll wanting to have at least a season or two with a QB on a rookie deal at some point so he can load up

Just my opinion, nothing substantial to bak it up

Disagree. Old Pete isn’t looking 3 years down the road. And Sanders isn’t a “can’t miss” type of player.

Next 2 players that could have teams wanting to trade up IMHO...

QBs Jaxson Dart and Jalen Milroe

I prefer them in the early 2nd for teams that passed on QB in the 1st like say the Giants. Would the Giants trade back up into the later part of the 1st to try and grab one of them?
The upside would be a QB with a 5th year option attached if the team decided to use it, always a plus with QBs vs other positions
All due respect, MoP, but would you maybe lay back a little on trying to guide this draft?
I understand, just curious now that Sanders is off the board where these next 2 will fall.
Recent mocks have had them moving up
Who knows butI'll stop posting Draft prospects if it helps, I didn't know it was taboo
It's not taboo, but let the drafters figure it out. I mean, this is your show so do whatever you want. My own personal opinion is that this particular exercise doesn't need to be Mel Kiper'd on upcoming picks, but maybe others here like it.

Anyway, carry on and sorry for the detour.
I wanted to shift this back to Ward and Sanders and why they are somewhat dangerous picks

-For the Titans, I think it's the right move to take a QB because in general i don't believe they were as bad as 3-14.
I don't know if Ward instantly pushes them to a 7-8 win team but Levis made a lot of mistakes and i don't think the Titans are a 3-win team

If you contrast that to the Panthers when they took Bryce Young No 1 overall and parted with precious future draft capital then found themselves back at No 1 with nothing to show for it
So what if the Giants take Sanders at No 3 and Russ plus SS equals another 4-5 win season and they are in the running for a top QB next year, except they already sunk their investment into Sanders.

The Raiders would be an interesting team for Sanders for many reasons including the fact he wouldn't be pressured to start right away
The Raiders could easily say they won't be picking 6th again and wanted him for '26 and '27 vs '25.
Las Vegas, his dad is next door coaching Colorado, for Sanders it would feel like he's not going all that far away vs a bigger city like New York
There's a lot of positive signs if he were to land in Vegas, I'm not even talking about Brady and Carroll as mentors to help him transition
On bolded, agree with both but especially Ward at #1 overall.

Obviously Titans need a QB and QB is the most important position in sports (yada, yada, yada) but is Ward worthy of the #1 pick overall and worth passing on a player like Travis Hunter? Personally, I don't think so. Would rather take the sure thing in this case. Not like last year where Caleb and Daniels were much better prospects.

I think Titans move the pick before draft day
As long as health doesn’t spoil his career, I think Carter is the best player in the draft

I made the pick knowing that geno would be extended. Sanders sitting wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. And Carrol has already shown that he will play who he thinks is better

Well, they are paying Smith a lot of money to be a backup in the event Sanders would win the job.

The draft hasn’t happened yet. Gotta lock in the qb and he averages out at 16th highest paid qb. Seems about right. Personally I don’t see hunter going quite so early and sanders may not even make it to the raiders.

TRADE

The NY Giants trade Kayvon Thibodeaux to the NE Patriots for pick #77 (3rd round pick).

The Giants weren't looking to replace Thibodeaux at all, but after Carter fell in their lap, he became tradable. Since the Giants have so many needs at other positions, they felt it was the best use of resources to trade Thibodeaux.

Panthers will select Jalon Walker, EDGE, at 1.08 from Georgia

Everything is a need but a premier position with a great talent and a HUGE need.
Darn it and good pick. I had two big posts saved. One was for when I thought I might be able to swing a trade up to 6 to get Graham when Jacksonville traded out of 5 to Cleveland and the other was for Walker at 9… I don’t think I have another big post in me.

I’m gonna need a minute, fellas. I didn’t want to entertain trade offers here, as I wanted to keep the draft moving along, but I have had some interest in the pick.

Bills really should have contacted you.

The Patriots add a very talented and highly selected edge player that’s only 24 years old. KT was moderately productive on some terrible Giants teams and I feel Vrabel will put him to use effectively.

I’m an Eagles homer and love what Howie does. The activity in this draft is modeled after his methods. Fortify the OL and add a young, highly talented player motivated to play for his next contract for a third round pick. If he works out, he’ll be resigned during or after this year, if not we play the comp pick game and likely receive a mid round pick when he signs elsewhere. The risk is well worth the reward for a team that’s mostly devoid of players as talented as KT.

1.04 Will Campbell OT LSU
2.06
3.05
3.13 Trade for Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux

Heck with it… with an offensive minded HC in Kellen Moore I initially thought he might look at adding a difference making playmaker on that side of the ball. The more I thought about it though I was set on giving them a leader and producer on the defensive side of the ball. I was looking specifically at Graham in a trade up or Walker if staying put. The other guys I like for them I don’t particularly want at 9. I could swing a trade to move down and possibly get one of them in the teens as well as picking up another pick in the process (which may be the smarter thing to do IRL) but I’m going to do this instead…

With pick 9, the New Orleans Saints select RB Ashton Jeanty, RB Boise State

Kamara is still on the team but will be turning the dreaded 3-0 before the season begins. There isn’t much depth wise behind him and with the additon of Jeanty it may be able to prolong Alvin’s career and productivity a bit by allowing him to continue focusing on his elite receiving skills while running less.

I think they are going to do this if he's available.
Thanks. That makes me feel better. Ha. Even though this is just for fun it was a little intimidating taking on another team. I didn’t seek out any input from the Saints posters here even though I know there are some that are active. Not sure how they’d feel. Dove right in and wanted to try it on my own.

If he goes #9 to NO in the real draft, before trades, FF owners aren’t going to be happy. Although it could be good long term. Memories of deuce McAllister going when Ricky was there.
But 10 to the 🐻 is so much better. Or maybe Dallas.

Huh. I don’t see it as a negative and I own the 1.01 in one of my leagues. New Orleans is a good run blocking team from what I read and I think they’d have enough talent around him that he’d be able to succeed.

Edit: plus I believe in Jeanty’s talent

Yeah, 1.1 holders, Kamara owners and the remaining Kendre peeps won't be thrilled though for Kendre maybe that means an exit though it all probably sorts itself out after a year or less.

Honestly, and no offense @farfromforgotten, it's hard for me to wrap my head around it making sense for them . But Nick Underhill is a really good beat writer and he's insinuated it a few times. Specifically with Jeanty and referencing the Boise connection with Moore and if not Jeanty he tweeted out a few days ago that RB was a high priority for them in general, which again I don't really agree with but this is the same team that guaraneed Jamaal Williams $10m the same year they spent a third round pick on Kendre and had Kamara locked up long term. They like their RB's.

Underhill actually wrote an article on it a few hours ago but I don't pay for his site and can't access it, but it's here if someone can ,no idea what he says in this article, it's just titled can they pass on Jeanty if he is available at 9: https://x.com/nick_underhill/status/1907863339515916790

With the 10th pick, the Atlanta Falcons select - Shemar Stewart DE/EDGE; Texas A&M

Stewart is one of the most athletic edge rushers to come into the league. Ever.

Yes, the production was not where you'd like it to be in the 'glamour' sack numbers (4.5 in his career)...but neither were Danielle Hunter's @ LSU. And their physical profiles are eerily similar.

Danielle Hunter Scouting Report; NFL.com
Shemar Stewart Scouting Report; NFL.com

While the Falcons could have waited and gotten perhaps Mike Green ort Mykel Williams, I like Stewart the best in terms of his pro potential, so I spend the 3rd acquired from CLE to get him. His fit with Jeff Ulbrich in the 3-4 may not be ideal, but I'm sick of the Falcons catering to medicore coaches and I bet on the traits here.

Jeanty, if available at nine, is a good hypothetical pick. There’s tons of smoke and noise around it and I almost picked him at seven but tried to think of what the Jets are really going to do and hadn’t seen anyone ever mock him there. Like ever.

Kamara had very few explosive runs last year and by all accounts was all volume-based but little to show for running the ball. I can tell you as a fan and shareholder that Kendre is nonexistent in pass protection and he wasn’t exactly lighting things up when they handed it to him. Like Andy said and I told efactor over PM, Jeanty is actually value this late, especially after Chicago (you snagged him before then, but that’s how I see it).

But now we disagree. Raiders have a good line and nobody back there; Jets have Breece Hall; Carolina has Hubbard and Dowdle; Saints have Kamara, Miller, and cap hell to deal with; Bears have nobody; SF has CMC and doubt; Dallas has nobody worthy.

NO is a bad place for him to land.

It goes

Chicago
Dallas
Las Vegas
New Orleans
New York Jets
SF

If New England or Jax take him, then that’s fine but not great. They go before NYJ and after NO, IMO.

He doesn’t make it past NO, IMO. Chicago better be ready to trade up if they want him badly enough.

Kamara had very few explosive runs last year
Been that way for a long time, actually improved a little from the previous season. People like him and he produces fantasy points so it goes under the radar but he's less of an explosive runner then Najee Harris. Has not had a 40 yard run since 2020 and only has 9 runs over 20 yards in that timeframe(Najee had that many just last year and I just reference him because he's kind of the poster child for plodding rushers but it actually should be Kamara. Good singles hitter and great in passing game though.

Indeed. Watched him all year and he’s still great in the open field but it’s not so much physical at this point as it is great awareness and spatial recognition. He knows how to block, chip and then catch, and sets up his blocks well.

He also had the threat of Carr going deep to Shaheed and also great play design getting him wide open at times. He looked good in the open field last year because he’s so intuitive and has great feel. That is why I would rather not see Jeanty go there. Kamara will be in his way for at least the year.
