FBG updates on players (1 Viewer)

Question for those of you who are more familiar with FBG services.

If im looking up a player that im considering drafting, for example lets use Matt Forte, all of the analysis is old.

It seems his projected stats get updated for the rankings, but there is no further analysis of how camp is going, how the bears offense in general looks, any competition, how preseason is panning out etc etc etc.

There's a Spotlight from July 10th but that is 6 weeks ago now and is still talking about his holdout.

Updating projected stats is great, but analysis from early July makes it so i just have to trust the arbitrary projection updates. W

Free sites like cbs give news updates but also analysis. see below:

hat am i missing here? how should i be using/access the FBG expert analysis or am i just getting projection updates?

From the Staff not so much updates before the season starts. There are updates on player pages, but only if there is a major news item about that player, then the staff will add a comment on that player's page.

The board is (or was depending on who you ask) a better source this time of the year. I highly recommend Faust's training camp thread, great stuff there. Also most "Official" team threads have really good insights from members who live in the local cities and hear more of what goes on from local sources.

The News Blogger is another great place to look for updates by player everyday with FBG takes added for some high profile players.

The Training camp updates pretty much break down things team by team, but I find them to be more of a summary of pre-season games more than anything else.

Hi Max, If you go to the rankings and look at the comments (just pan over the ranking if it is blue), you will see the comments of those of us that have done them. In general, anytime there is a change that could affect the players ranking, we try to update the comments to reflect any change. In the case of Forte, nothing has happened since camp began (outside of his contract) that would have any bearing on his ranking and in that case the changes to the comments will be minor. That should give you a general idea of whether a players situation has changed enough to warrant changes in rankings (and projections as well). But only the rankings have comments. Use them as a general guide to look to see if a recent change will impact the players situation. Generally, if you don't see changes in the comments, then the players situation likely has not changed since the particular comment was updated. Hope that helps.
