FBG's Week 2 Rankings? (1 Viewer)

Just go the e-mail this morning (which btw I love). Looking it over one thing stuck out like a sore thumb. Sanchez playing NE is ranked ahead of Brett Farve playing Det.

I am not saying Farve is Drew Brees but did anyone see what Brees did against Det last week? Det's Secondary looked liked they were on Ice Skates, Brees was just throwing in a WR's general direction and Det still could not stop them.

While Sanchez had a good game last year lets remember he is still a rookie and playing one of the best gameplanning coaches of all-time in Belicheck this week, I think he is in for a stinker and Farve has a minn coming out party.

Agree or Disagree?????

Maybe they figure the Vikings won't want to wear the old man's arm out throwing it all over Detroit, when they can keep it on the ground and run all over them. Less turnovers that way too. The Jets may have to throw more in a game with the Patriots.

Pats defense is not that good (you did see MNF, right?), and the Vikes will run early, often and continuously.

Sanchez is the toast of the town this week, Favre wasn't asked to do too much - no reason to expect either trend to change given the opponents.

I think 21 and 22 are about right for those two and won't quibble over who's higher - flip a coin. Hopefully, you are being rhetorical here and aren't really counting on either for your lineup.

In a 16 team league I think someone will be relying on one of these guys, which I am in a 16 team league and yes Farve is a starter

Ok, where would you put Favre this week? I think somewhere around 21-22 is about right. If this is your team, any chance Kolb is on Waivers? I like his chances for a big game better this week than Favre's Yea, Favre is totally more talented but he might not have to throw except to keep his arm warm. Kolb is likely to be in a shootout ...If I were ranking them, I'm move Garrard down to around 14-15 because I think Arizona's D is tons better than last year. I'd move Shaun Hill down a few notches b/c of their power running scheme and Kolb up to about Hill's spot. Probably behind Cutler depending on the penalty for INTs but only because I think Cutler will be throwing a lot. Otherwise, I feel the ranking is pretty good.

You also have to remember that the early rankings are off the top of Dodd's head. That's why they are labeled "preliminary". It's not unusual for several players to move significantly in the rankings when the next set comes out...and Favre is one I'd expect to move up some.

I think Favre is very, very under-ranked, especially in TD-heavy leagues.

I agree that Minnesota will run the ball and keep it conservative. But do we really think that Favre isn't going to spot 2-3 plays where guys are running wide open and throw a bomb for a TD? He has to be salivating after watching the NO game on tape. Do we really think Chilly is going to rein in Favre on this game? Why not let Favre pad his stats this game and then have him go back to game-manager mode when the matchup is tougher.

I'll probably start Favre over Rivers and Garrard in TD-heavy league.

I wasn't impressed by Favre in game 1 (and I am a Viking fan who wants him to do well), so I can see preferring Sanchez, who was impressive. Yes, the matchup favors Favre, but if the Vikes get a big lead early are they going to be passing alot like NO does? Or will we see a ton of ADP and Chester Taylor?
