IMO, the biggest improvement would be the use of CONSENSUS rankings during the season. After the draft is completed, there are only two things I need: solid information on who to start and who to acquire (FA or trade). David does a great job with his rankings, but research, history, and common sense dictate that a CONSENSUS opinion of an informed group is FAR better than the opinion of any individual. I really like the pre-season consensus rankings; why can't we get the same for in-season cheatsheets and Value Going Forward?

I can't believe it took someone else this long to post this. As soon as I read the original post of this thread, that is what comes to mind. The expert/consensus rankings is an invaluable tool during draft season, then after the season starts we only get the rankings of 1 staffer. Some things are universal, but sometimes people see things in different lights. Do you drop a QB from an elite team in the rankings because they're playing a strong defense, or do you maybe bump him a few spots, because he may have to be throwing more than usual because they may be in a tight game instead of grinding out the clock in the 4th quarter by handing the ball off 15 times. The consensus rankings also tend to weed out inherent biases in people's rankings. It is impossible for humans to be totally unbiased, no matter how professional they are. We are loyal, emotional beings and sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we all see the world through rose colored glasses sometimes.
