How come I don't hear much about this guy... only thing I heard is that he might be the next Ray Rice... "Can you pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars... I could really use a wish right now...wish right now... wish right nowwwwwwww"
Barber hasn't shown much in the preseason.Barber is injury prone.just sayin'Felix...-- appears to have ceded the starting role back to Barber-- hasn't shown much in the preseason-- is injury proneSorry to knock your star out of the sky, but that's why he isn't getting any more love... I think Barber and maybe even Choice (as late flyer) are the ones to own in Dallas this year.

He was so over-rated in the spring that he might actually be under-valued right now...odd turn of events in his value without even playing a regular season game or getting injured (yet).Barber hasn't shown much in the preseason.Barber is injury prone.just sayin'Felix...-- appears to have ceded the starting role back to Barber-- hasn't shown much in the preseason-- is injury proneSorry to knock your star out of the sky, but that's why he isn't getting any more love... I agree. He was pretty overrated in the Spring. I just looked at a mock draft in FFI magazine with different experts and he went with the 4.12 pick in non-PPR scoring (draft was most likely in mid-May). In my 12 team, Keep 3, .5PPR held last week, I got him 7.01 (when you consider three rounds of keepers). That is a huge drop in a matter of months when nothing about the guy has really changed during that time. I think we have seen a correction in his value, but I also think it has temporarily swung in the direction of his being undervalued. For example, I was able to secure 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 QB and 1 TE before I selected him. I literally could have gone with 2 RBs and 4 WRs before I got him as a RB3.He was so over-rated in the spring that he might actually be under-valued right now...odd turn of events in his value without even playing a regular season game or getting injured (yet).Barber hasn't shown much in the preseason.Barber is injury prone.just sayin'Felix...-- appears to have ceded the starting role back to Barber-- hasn't shown much in the preseason-- is injury proneSorry to knock your star out of the sky, but that's why he isn't getting any more love... Barber played with a torn quad too.Yes, he is under the radar. I have explained why in about 10 other threads over the last 6 months. In short, he is the most talented back on the team, he is better conditioned than he has been in the past, and at this point, Barber is more of an injury risk than Jones. Jones had more carries than BArber of the last 5-6 weeks last season, and outproduced him by a wide margin.Im not too concerned about his preseason play, nobody on the Cowboys offense has looked good. Unless you think that will continue in the regular season, there is no reason to ignore Jones because of it.
I agree. The Cowboys have not had 2 of their lineman this pre-season and Free is new. So, they haven't looked that great as a whole. The cowboys have been putting Barber out there first as a "show of physical presence" but I have seen literarly dozens of places where Jerry Jones has said that they want Barber as the closer, not the guy so when the boss talks, I listen: I fully expect it to be mostly Felix when the bullets fly for real. Barber is actually more injury-prone than Felix and Felix is a bit bigger/thicker than last year. I guess what it comes down to is there is no denying the talent so if I can believe that Fred Taylor can go from snake bitten to healthy, I can take that chance on Felix toYes, he is under the radar. When both Barber and Jones are healthy has Choice really gotten any extended time? IIRC he's basically been non-existent without an injury. A couple of touches a game but nothing substantial. Are they planning on using Choice much more than previously?Problem is IMO is you have to get long TD's from him because he gets so few touches. It's not just Barber - it's Choice. Proverbial 3 headed monster. Unless one goes down it's hard to love any of them. At least Barber will be the goal line guy. If you can predict when Felix will take a long one to the house then draft away. If Barber goes down I go after Choice - not Jones.

yuck - not what I wanted to hear but thanks for the local knowledge..Ridgelake said:I've been a big Felix supporter in his first 2 years. He flashed special skills. Really jumped off the screen at you with his acceleration, quickness, and moves.I'm worried about him this year. He looks like a different back this preseason. Slower. Less nimble. Less able to juke guys in the open field. I have a very strong feeling he'll talk next season about how he dropped weight to regain his speed/quickness. He isnt passing the eyeball test right now. Its got nothing to do with his numbers this preseason. Its got everything to do with how he's looked with the ball in his hands in the open field. No where near as explosive. He's moved down my draft board considerably.
I drafted him, but this is what I was most worried about...I don't like it when guys bulk up (or lose weight) to become a "different back"...it never seems to end well. Guys like Warrick Dunn knew what their "Bread and butter" were and did not mess around to be more durable (or in some cases, more nimble). I have to admit, I found it shocking that Jones was heavier when camp started than Barber...maybe both went the wrong way, but I agree with Ridgelake in that he could be one of those guys in June of 2011 who starts waxing poetic about how he is back down to his optimal weight. With that said, i would encourage people to revisit Steve Slaton. In year two he gained 15 lbs to be at 215 and has since dropped that weight. With the Foster train in full-gear, it is hard to get a word in edge-wise, but personally, I think Slaton is a nice buy this year.yuck - not what I wanted to hear but thanks for the local knowledge..Ridgelake said:I've been a big Felix supporter in his first 2 years.
