Fencing - Mainly for dog (1 Viewer)

My house is on the corner and this is my backyard.   My driveway is in on the street in the pic but the house faces north if my drive is west.  What I hate about fencing in the yard it how visible it will be since my backyard runs parallel to the main road of the subdivision.   My new dog seem to be a runner so I am considering the fence.   If my backyard wasn't as visible I would do black chain-link fencing.   I really don't want to close everything off with a high privacy fence either.   The area is 400 linear feet approximately.    Anyone suggestions would be appreciated as I don't have any experience with this.

you could always go with the Invisible fence if it is just to keep your dog contained.. A few houses in our neighborhood have them and they work great.

I personally choose the Black Chain fence as it's 100 times better then the silver colored.. Plus I just don't trust neighborhood kids from staying out of our yard.. Didn't want one of those dumba##es to rush one of our dogs, get bit and then have to deal with the parents.

What kind of dog? I'm sure you've mentioned this in the dog thread, but...

:useless:   ;)

Someone else may know more about this, but have you thought about electronic fences?

I have a yellow lab/golden mix.   She will not stay in the yard but for convenience of late night and what not we want the fence.   There are pitbulls in the area and car fly by even though it is 25 limit.   That is my major concern.   Also a concern is how it would look.

Looking at a combo of black chain link in back where it will blend in with the greenery and a more decorative "wrought iron" for where it will be gated and connected to the house. Luckily I have a neighbor on one side that is fully fenced in, saving me from fencing that side. :moneybag:

Cute puppy! We have a fully fenced in yard (wooden, looks like built by builder, since everyone who has a house built at similar time has the same fence and meld.) and it is very nice to be able to let my dog out the back and let her run around to chase squirrels and such. My neighbor (both working, no kids) has a doggie door in his slider that allows his dog in and out on her own. He still pays for a walker to come in once a day so she gets some better exercise (similar size dog to what yours will grow to).

This is what I did, they completed on Monday.   I also pulled the dog from fencing lessons as they were a waste of money without opposable thumbs .
